Kelsie's POV I thought everything would go black. The impact was hard that my bottom cheeks kissed the rough ground. "Ugh!" I groaned. My hands instinctively fly onto my forehead. I am certain the impact will leave a red mark on the side of my head. "Sh*t, I'm sorry!" he said. I caress the sides of my head. "Let me help you," he offered a hand in front of me but I ignored him. I quickly get up from the ground and face him. His face isn't that familiar, but I am sure that he is from our pack. After all, he can't be here if he's an outsider. "Tsss..." I hiss. I know it weren't either our fault since it was an accident, but I don't feel very friendly right now, especially that my head is aching and most probably, the plants in the forest are now wiped out. The guy is short. I mean, not too short but short for a guy. He's 5'7, just like my height. I am used to 6- footer guys since that is an average height of men here in our pack. "Sorry, Kelsie. My name is Kleo." My brows furrowed. "I didn't ask," I answered. He lend a hand in front of me while I was busy dusting off the particles of muds on my dress. I ignored his hand and completely faced him. "From what quarters are you?" I curiously asked. I am not interested at anyone at all but his face makes me wonder where was the time I saw him. I do not know why people's faces today seems familiar to me. First is Veya, next ix this guy standing in front of me. "Actually..." he said in a low voice as if someone might hear him. He look sideways to check whether someone nearby is listening to us. He made a step forward and lean towards me. He raised his middle and index finger and motioned me to come forward. Out of curiosity, I obeyed. I lean my head forward and lend my ear to him. "I am not from this pack," he whispered. My eyes widens. I quickly withdraw from him. I am already ready to report him to the Sentinels but he quickly grabbed my wrist. "Let go of me!" I tried to forcefully free myself from his hold but he won't let me. "Hey, hey. I'm not here for any trouble," he said as he strugglé to keep me on place. "The moment you set foot in our territory without proper guidelines and sneaking around means you are asking for trouble "I am from a Midnight Walker pack." I stopped. My brain started thinking of the pack's name that he mentioned. My jaw dropped when I suddenly remember the name. "W-What are y-you doing h-here...?" "Alpha Nox made me go here. He wanted me to check if you're okay. Also..." he insert his hand onto his pocket to get something. He then handed me a paper. Along with it are a bunch of sticks that has a red paper wrapped on its end. "What's this?" I accepted the paper as well as the sticks and scrutinize them. Is this a fireworks? It looks like a firework. I remember our pack lighting this kind of sticks when celebrating a new year. "Alpha Nox told me to give them to you." 'Obviously,' I wanted to say. "Why need to do it this way? Our Sentinels might caught you." Kleo only smirked. My brows furrowed and I feel insulted. Maybe it was just an innocent smirk for him, bit I find it arrogant. Every neighboring packs know how powerful our pack is because of the system that we have here. We are the only ones who mandates our members to be part of any quarter. This is why the fact that he managed to sneak in here and smirked when I told him our Sentinels might caught him, I feel like he is lowkey degrading our security. What the hell afe the acouts and sentinels doing? I know he's here to bring no harm, but still! What if an outsider managed to get in? Ugh! I need to tell this to Connor! "Please don't tell anyone about this. And kindly read my alpha's message," he said. I arch a brow. Did he read my thoughts are it was just simply plastered on my face? "I won't," I replied even though I am not sure if I will stand by it. "You should go now. Our Sentinels will surely catch you if you'll stay longer." I emphasized and watch his expression. When I noticed nothing unusual and no hints of mockery, I continued. "Be careful when sneaking out of our territory. We have numbers of highly-skilled Scouts," I added. "If they were skilled, then how come I got inside?" "Do you want me to call them?" He quickly shake his head and turn on his back. "I will go now, Princess. Kondly read my alpha's message. I think it's very important since he commanded one of his members to sneak inside the one of the strongest pack," he said and completely went out of my line of sight. My brows furrowed. I do not know but there is something in his tone that I do not like. I look around and checked if there is someone watching me. Then my eyes dropped on the paper. I sigh. I opened the folded paper while keeping a hold of the sticks on the other hand. 'Hi, Kelsie, how are you? Firstly, let me apologized for communicating to you this way. You know I cannot visit your pack anymore due to what happened last time. I just want to know if you're doing fine. I heard that your pack is conducting a test. I won't hope that you'll ace them because I am confident that you will. You might be wondering what the red sticks is all about. Well, since I cannot go there anymore, I can't check on you. If you need a help, you can light up the stick and it will fire a red firework in the sky. This will serve as my go signal to go there. I do not care if I am banned. If you need my help, I will do my best and in everything I can to help you. That'all. Good luck to your test and best wishes.' I arch a brow. I appreciate his effort and his concern, but why the hell I would need his help? Does he know that I am being bullied here? Well, if that is his only reason, the. he has nothing to be worried about. I folded the paper and inserted it into my back pocket along with the sticks. Connor is here for me. With that being said, I do not know why would I need other's help.
