14- Visit (Part II)

Kelsie's POV I am standing in front of the full-length mirror while staring at my reflection and scrutinizing my dress. A small smile flashes on my lips as I sway my body left and right to see if the dress that I am wearing perfectly fits my body. "You look good, Princess!" I glance at Gia through the mirror. I know right! I am wearing a beige long-back dress. It is an off-shoulder ruffled dress that exposes my neck and collarbones. The skirt is just above my knees in the front and falls on my ankle from the back. I love the mesh clothing that serves as the upper layer of the whole dress. It gives texture to the clothing. Also, I look like I travel back to an ancient time! "I'm sure the Alpha of the Midnight Walker Pack will be stunned!" Gia commented. Her fingers are clasped together as she giggles while staring at my dress. The smile on my face slowly faded. Good thing she is focused on my dress and did not notice me giving her a side-eye. 'Tss. As if I dressed for that pack!' I glance at the still-closed door of my room. It's been hours since I ordered Garnor to inform Connor that he has to accompany me on my visit to the Midnight Walker Pack. I am already dressed up, but he still hasn’t shown up. "You look beautiful, princess! We should now--" "I think I want to curl my hair," I said, cutting her off. "Styling my hair will perfectly match my ruffled sleeves and long-back dress," I added. "You're right, Princess, hold on." Gia turns her back and searches for my hair curler somewhere inside the room. I watch her through the reflection, hoping she won't find it that fast. However, when she pulled out a handy iron, my shoulder slumped down. "Got it!" she excitedly exclaimed and went back beside me to style my hair. She started curling my hair. Throughout the process, I keep glancing at the door. I notice that she moves fast. It's only been a minute yet she already curled half of my hair! I silently clear my throat. "Slow down. You might burn me," I said. One of the reasons why I chose Gia as my personal Omega is because she's attentive and moves faster than other Omegas. But now, I wish she isn't that fast! "Done!" she announces. I sigh. Gia notices my expression and her enthusiastic face turns into an anxious one. "You didn't like it, Princess?" she asked. I shake my head. Her brows furrow a little. "I like it. But maybe it will look better if we will only curl the tips?" I suggested. To be honest, I like the way she curled my hair. I was just looking for an excuse to stay longer. "Okay! Hold on. I'll get the flat iron." She replaced the hair curler with a flat iron in her hand. She started ironing the upper part of my hair, leaving the tips curled. I bite my lower lip. The door is still closed and I am already starting to get pissed. "Make up! I want to put on a make up!" I said when I see her getting nearly done with my hair. Gia looked at me a little confused, she paused a little as she contemplates what I said. I frowned. The iron is near my face and I can feel the warmth from it. “It’s hot, Gia,” I said. She immediately places the iron away from my face. “A-Are you sure you want to put on a make up, princess?” She knows I do not like wearing make up. Make ups make my face feel sticky. And even I know those products will enhance my features, I still refuse on using them. Besides, what feature of mine should I enhance? I'm perfect! Also, I love the subtle freckles on my cheeks. Only a few in our packs, or maybe I am the only one, who has natural freckles on the face. I love being different from other people. It makes me feel more unique. “Yes, I am. But make sure to not make it thick!” I warned her. “O-Okay, Princess!” she replied. She motioned me to sit in front of my vanity mirror. She turned on the lights and prepares my make up kit. I stare at my reflection in the mirror. My brown hair perfectly matches my soft-brown-looking eyes. The subtle brown freckles on my cheeks proudly display on my face. I pout when I realize it will be covered with make up. Gia started putting on a makeup base on my face. “Just put on a little,” I said when I saw her squeezing too much product. She nods at me and lessens the product on her hand. “Put it gradually and try not to cover my freckles,” I commanded. Gia paused for a while, probably confused about what I said. But in the end, she still obeyed what I said. “Okay, Princess.” Gia started spreading the base make up in a slow manner. Afterward, she let it set. When she was about to put a blush on my face, I raised my hands to stop her. “Are you sure it is already set?” I asked even though I know the make up already settled on my face and was ready for the next step. Gia nods. “Yes, Princess,” she answered, a little confused about my random questions. “Alright. Put on a pink-orange blush,” I commanded. I always use pink blushes. If I am not mistaken, the shade that I am looking for is placed on the bottom of my make up kit. However, it only took her a couple of seconds to dig her hands into my kit and found the shade that I want. I frowned. While she was busy with my face, I took the advantage to glance on the door, hoping it will soon open and the guy I’d been waiting for will enter. Gia already finished putting on my make up, but the door remained closed. "Are you ready, Princess? We should go now. You're already late—" "I will be the one to say if we're ready to go." I cut her off, slightly pissed. Why is he still not here?! Ugh! I cross my arms over my chest while waiting for him. I do not care if I’ll get late. I am sitting on my chair with my back straight while Gia is standing behind me, being careful of her movements. The wait took me almost half an hour before my patience ran out. “Ugh! I’m done waiting,” I said. I aggressively stand on my sit, making the chair make an irritating sound as its feet drag on my wooden floor. Gia made a step backward to give me the way. “Where are you going, princess?!” she asked, slightly panicking. I am already stretching my arms to reach for my doorknob when suddenly, the door was pushed open from the other side. I was caught off guard and a bit stunned, making my feet glued in their place. Connor is standing in the doorway. His steps were paused when he noticed me blocking the way. He looked at me from head to toe. I clear my throat and put down my arm. I can feel my cheeks burning. ‘Sh*t! That was embarrassing!’ Do I look like I was pissed when he opened the door? Gosh! I hope he did not notice! “Garnor told me you called for me,” he said, breaking the silence between us two. “Ohhh… now I know—” Gia’s sentence was cut off when I turned to face her and throw a glare at her. She immediately closed her lips and motioned her fingers as if she were zipping her lips. She avoided her gaze at me but I can see in her eyes how badly she wanted to stop herself from smiling. I mentally shake my head. I faced Connor. This time, with full composure. “What took you so long?” I asked. He once again looks at me from head to toe. However, unlike how he scrutinized me earlier, his eyes traveled on my body slowly. I notice how his eyes stopped on my chest, and back to my face. He then raised a brow. “What made you dress that way?” I know it was a simple question and he doesn’t mean anything when he said that. But, I do not know why his tone sounds insulting to me. “Are you saying I don’t look good?” I asked in a mixture of confusion, unbelief, and anger. “No. You don’t usually dress that way. I was surprised.” He fixes his stance and inserts his hands into his pockets. I was taken aback by what he said. I cleared my throat and unconsciously put some of the hair blocking my face behind my ear. “We should go. The Midnight Walker pack might be waiting for us,” I said. I walk past him. He did not even make a space for me to walk out of the room. Instead, he made me bump my shoulders into him and smell his manly mint perfume! My palms suddenly went cold when I felt my heart thumping louder than normal. I gulp. I look at Connor and caught him staring at me with his usual hooded eyes. Did he hear my heartbeat? Did he notice the slight electricity when our shoulders bump? Or it was just my imagination? My mind keeps talking to me that I did not notice him closing the gap between us two. “Let’s go,” he said and placed his rough and warm hand on my bare back and motion me to walk. *** I roam my eyes on the lobby. Everything you see is covered with midnight blue, gray, and black colors. Now I know why their pack is called Midnight Walker. Their pack house looks dark and cold. Connor is casually sitting beside me while we wait for Alpha Nox, the son of the current Alpha. He’s probably around our age. I heard footsteps from a near distance. Connor strands on his seat to greet back whoever is coming. I mimic what he did. I also stand on my seat with my back straight. I caught Connor’s attention, but I ignored him. My eyes are all on the entrance of their lobby. I immediately plastered a smile when the image of a probably 6-foot man resurfaced. He is wearing a midnight blue long sleeves paired with a dark blue tie and black trousers for his bottom clothes. His broad shoulders proudly add to his overall appearance, and I am sure that behind the cloth that he is wearing are his abdomen muscles and protruding veins in his arms. His fair skin perfectly fits his dark-colored outfit and jet-black hair. He looks more like a vampire than a werewolf. My jaw drops at his overall physique. The sides of my lips stretch up to reach my ears. This! This is the kind of Alpha mate that I am looking for! “Good day, Princess Kelsie and Mr. Maccon,” he formally uttered and lends a hand. I was about to reach his hand, but Connor stole it from me. I look at him and throw a quick glare before flashing a smile back to Alpha Nox. “Connor Maccon. I am the Beta of the Black Claw pack,” Connor greeted. “Yes, I know you. In fact, I heard plenty of good news about you!” Alpha Nox enthusiastically greeted. The two shakes hand and I notice how firm they are. I thought Alpha Nox is a 6 foot tall man. Now that he is standing across from Connor, I realized they have the same height. Both are 6’2. “And I am Kelsie… Kelsie Tamaska, Alpha Nox,” I snatch his hand from Connor to shake his hand. He let out a manly chuckle which sends a shiver down my spine. I am certain my cheeks are now burning! “Just call me Nox. You indeed look like a Princess, Kelsie,” he greeted me while shaking my hand. My hand looks smaller and more delicate when wrapped with his huge and firm hand. “And you look like my future mate, Nox,” I jokingly said which made the guy behind me frown and throw a glare at me. ----- Unedited.
