Mackenzie’s POV I spent the weekend getting used to the new security system and dealing with customers, now it’s Monday morning and I’ve just dropped Maxton off at daycare and am sitting in my station wagon outside of Cadell Security, a box of red velvet cupcakes in the seat beside me. Yes I made red velvet, but it had nothing to do with the little story Callan told me about being trampled to death for them. I just happened to have a lot of extra mixture left over from the display bakes so I used it up, well that’s what I’m telling myself anyway. Sucking in a fortifying breath, I unclip my seatbelt, throw open the driver’s side door and reach over to grab the box, balancing it carefully as I climb out of the vehicle. I use my ass to shut the door behind me as the box is too big to hold
