Chapter 16: The Return

Years passed and Roman became his own worst enemy, his paranoia about being betrayed started to show and I love that he felt the world closing in on him because the boys would be back. There was a storm last night and I felt some surreal energy that almost put me on my back, I wondered if that was a sign that the boys were being woken up soon, I couldn't wait to finally greet them and welcome them back. We didn't know how strong they would be but we were prepared and in all honesty, if something went wrong, we would all end up dead anyway. Cayden and I met up after calling each other about the energy we felt last night, it had been established that it was time to welcome our Alpha before he went on his revenge journey. Since the moon goddess came to us all those years ago, we researched the prophecy and put things in place to welcome our boys home, we had been friends a long time before they died and we will be on this journey to reclaim their lives back with them.

I stated, "Cayden, do you have the mansion available and everything ready?" "Of course, we don’t want a m******e on our hands, Lexi will meet us there as well, so let's waste no more time," he replied with a smile across his face. Lexi was our witch who lives in my territory after she left Roman's Kingdom for personal reasons, we are on our private jet heading to our location as Bernice sucked off Cayden’s c**k in excitement. "Damn Fae, a bunch of whores," I said under my breath, "I heard that Elijah, maybe Bernice can help when she is done," and he moaned. I replied, "Nope, my mates would have my head," as we got closer to the airport, Cayden was asleep after his activities with Bernice, who was back serving drinks as our hostess. She was an omega wolf working for me, since the treaty with the wolves, they can work in my territory as well as my vampires can work in theirs.

We have a few wolves and vampires mated in my land, but King Roman despises them, so once that happens, they move to my territory. That stupid law disrupted so many lives that he couldn't see that his people despised him and were desperately waiting for a savior. I was going through some files when I got a link from my beloved, Jasper, " Hey love, how is it going?" I could feel his worry because we didn't know what to expect and I told him, "Have faith in me, love, I will come home to you and Marie." He sent a kiss and closed the link. Eli was back home, he wanted to go with me but for safety reasons, it was best he stayed back in case things did go south. I thought about how things are going to be different from now on, we did a good job in keeping this secret from Roman, he stopped speaking to his daughter so she never became a threat to us.

We waited for about an hour and I sent my men to spread around the perimeter to ensure no one wandered this far into the woods and got hurt. Cayden’s men and second-in-command were near the tomb looking like men in black with their suits on, "I love the movie," I smirked. Cayden's second-in-command is also his twin brother Michael, who is very effective at martial arts and head of his Elite team of fighters and assassins, Michael signaled for movement and we waited. I saw Lexi do a spell to remove the boulder blocking the entrance so that Aidan and his blood brothers could leave the tomb, the spell was lifted and nothing was keeping them inside. Some men had guns drawn and I mind-linked them, "Don’t, they will kill us all, let me handle it," and Cayden moved forward with me as they showed their faces, but their faces looked different, they contorted as I saw fangs and black veins leading to their black eyes, and I knew it was their vampires wanted out and hungry, their skin was pale and we heard their growling as their wolves wanted out.

After things settled down, Aidan approached me after getting a meal from his blood bag, the look on his face said it all, he was happy that he still had friends and not everyone betrayed him. I hugged him as he said, "Elijah, thank you for still being the godfather I remember," and I smiled and said. "Don't say that, I always loved you, kid, I would have never betrayed you and never will. If I had known what Roman was planning, I would have stopped it but the moon goddess made us stand down for you guys to become who you are," and he said, "Good," before we smelled Addison and looked in her direction. Ty growled and he walked over to her after she fainted but something was wrong with the fairy as he stood there in a trance. Aidan slapped my back as we realized that the fairy got mated, "Finally, you man w***e," I linked him and he blocked me before walking over to the she-wolf." Eventually, we decided to show Aidan and the others to their new mansion and get them settled, especially since Addison was still unconscious.

Cayden

I knew when I took this mission that I was on a slippery slope but hopefully, they come to their senses long enough to realize we are not the enemy. Elijah and I were hand-picked by the goddess to be the Supremes's High Advisors in court and we took the job seriously. They are my childhood friends and I couldn't wait to have them back, Roman was going down finally and we were more excited about that, no more holding back. As I got on Elijah's private jet, I was more than welcome to get this over with but I saw Bernice and decided maybe a little head couldn't hurt, maybe take her out after we get the boys settled in, "Damn, she was fine," I thought. After reaching our destination and Bernice sucking my d**k and blowing me off about seeing me again, we were ready for what was about to happen, I was nervous because I had my brother here with his men and if this goes bad, we don't have heirs to replace us on the throne.

My brother was above the tomb, gun drawn and I linked him to stand down, Aidan looked at us and growled this powerful growl that overpowered everyone bringing them to their knees except me and Cayden, after all, we were their guardians, so it won’t affect us. I got a link coming through, "Why are you here?" I realized Elijah got the link too, Aidan wasn't playing and I hope he recognized us or it will be bloody. Drax told everyone to show themselves or they would be forced to play a little game of seek and die and I knew what he meant, he was ready for war and a hungry vampire is a deadly one. All our men came out of the shadows surrendering and bowing in submission to Aidan and the others all saying, "My King, we pledge allegiance to you as you are our one true King." Elijah knelt and bowed his head and the rest of us followed and did the same, Aidan acknowledged our allegiance and walked to us saying, "Old friends," and turned to smell blood, it was Lexi.

She had a small gash on her head and Ty grabbed her so quickly we didn't see when he moved and told her, "You smell delicious," smelling her scent and licking her forehead. He was about to sink his fangs in her neck when Michael opened the cooler full of blood bags and all their heads snapped looking in his direction, smelling the blood, he backed away to give them access and Elijah smiled and said, "Eat my lords, then we will talk." I was sharing a joke with Drax about how he has a new taste for blood, being a hybrid and all, then it hit me, this refreshing scent of lilies, my favorite flower. I turned to see the she-wolf who was with another woman and she froze, looking at me before the woman fainted. This woman who I recognize as Addison, Aidan's former mistress, and now know is her mother, I went over to help but a growl stopped me in my tracks and Ty went over to Addison on the ground while her daughter looked scared and panicky.

I have never really met her daughter only heard of her, I told her, "We are not here to harm her." She was ready to fight us if she had to, to protect her mother, "Let us help you," I said, and then our eyes met. Everything made sense at that moment, no one seemed to be around us, I caressed her face, feeling sparks on my fingers and she just smiled and said, "Mate." We introduced ourselves and Ty picked up her mother off the ground as we all decided to get going. I held her hand as I led her to the SUV, she sat in my lap and kept looking at her mother who was in Ty's lap, he was holding her close, and no one could touch her. I linked her saying, "Ty won't hurt her, that's his fated mate," she looked at me confused and I said, "Let your mother explain," and she sat back leaning on my chest feeling the tingles of our bond, feeling relaxed and complete. I never thought feeling like this would ever be for me when my brother linked me from the other SUV saying, "Congrats, bro," and closed the link.

Aidan

I was shocked by the way Ty reacted to Addy, she was his mate and he never told me, I now understand the hatred he has towards her at the end. We trusted her and ended up dead, but after knowing what we know now, I understand why she did it, Addy fainted so we needed to leave the forest as it was getting late. Elijah signaled for his men to take us to our mansion, this is the modern word for a castle, I guess there is so much to get familiar with now I have returned to a new world. So many things have changed over the years and it will take a while to get used to it. The clothes are different and we ride in these mechanical boxes called cars, trucks, or SUVs. It was fun riding in them and Drax was enjoying how fast we traveled, on the other hand, Ty had Addy in his lap and wasn’t letting anyone touch her, not even her daughter sitting in Cayden’s lap. "Hey, are you okay," I mind-linked Ty, who seemed worried and just nodded at me, "Yes!"

As we approached this huge mansion with men all around the outskirts, they were guards around the forest in wolf form, and vampires were in suits protecting the property. The help, as it is called in this modern world, or the omegas we called them, Omegas back then, who cleaned and cooked in the mansion lined up outside and were waiting for us to welcome us home. Elijah filled me in on the basics but I was sent to my room to clean up for the night before getting down to business, my first job here is to make Roman suffer before I kill him. Roman was one of us and his jealousy and greed ended us all and uprooted the Kingdom's normalcy, he is a disease we need to cure and no one wants this more than me, especially after learning he mated Lily. I wasn't sure if she was in on the coup but I would find out before I made my move, my wolf felt hurt thinking about Lily betraying us for Roman, if she did, she could join him too but would I have the strength to end her if it came to that?
