I was in bed looking at the man next to me who was between my legs last night wondering what the day would hold for me, my son was looking for the Rogue Vampire who was killing young girls of any species that roam inside the Kingdom and he had no choice but to order that no maiden should walk alone at night during particular peaks hours which helped but now, that doesn't even stop him, he would just kill the family. Flashback
I was a young vampire when I met the Vampire King in a small village I lived in, we were a mixture of vampires and Fae and we lived in harmony. He came into town because he was looking for a witch and I was the one who told him, "A witch passed through town over three days ago," and he stopped to rest and refresh himself. I worked at the Pub with my father and we had rooms they could rent for the night. I felt the pull to him instant and knew he was my beloved but I was scared, I was not royalty, how could I be fated to the King? After the Supreme's death, people stopped getting fated mates until the new ones emerged but I was still shocked. Everyone bowed when he walked up to me as I held my head down, he stopped me and I felt the tingles on my chin as he said, "Not you, you are my Queen," and the crowd gasped.
I smiled and my father looked at us smiling, he was so happy and we closed the Pub, I sat in his lap because he wanted me near and the feeling was new to me but it was amazing. That night we were mated and my father closed the pub and went back to Vampora with me, I was crowned Queen and had Elijah soon after. As the months rolled by, he had to leave again, he had found a lead on the witches, and he told me about Vivianne and his sister, I was shocked when I found out his sister was mated to one of the Supremes and because of the mark, she died with them. I ran the Kingdom and had the respect of the people, and my father was his advisor and because of his business head, the Kingdom flourished. He would send notes by magic about his whereabouts and I would always welcome them, one fateful night, he came to me and woke me out of my sleep.
I was so glad that he was back and he kissed me, we made love that night, I fell asleep but when I woke up in the morning, he was gone, I thought I had dreamed it at first but weeks later, I was with child again. I had Amara a few months later, but he never sent a note and I was starting to worry, I sent men out to look for him, I still felt him but it was faint. I looked for him for years and eventually, I didn't feel him anymore, no one in the Kingdom felt him and we mourned his death. My kids believed he was still alive and I never corrected them. As the years went on, it hurt less but I also wish that I could have found a way to help him, save him, and I would not have been alone.

He replied, "Yes, Your Highness," and I stopped him saying, "It's Mina, I'm just the King's Mother," and turned to him saying, "Don't break his heart or I will end you myself," before walking away.

After the brief meeting with Lady Mina, I was excited, she had accepted me and I ran back to my quarters to meet up with an old friend of mine. Elijah will be back tonight and I want to welcome him back with a special gift I had ordered for him, I got on horseback and headed to the village to get this gift. It was late evening and the sun was setting so the town would be lively at this time, I got a special bracelet for him, it was pricey but fit for a King and I needed it for my baby. He was going to meet the Elders tomorrow to have our mating approved, I worked too hard to be the best future King Consort and I couldn't wait for my coronation but first, I have to be home to meet my man. I headed back up th trail to the Palace when I saw this beautiful maiden walking quickly to meet curfew, I got angry, I wanted no women near him so I got off my horse. She recognized me and said, "You startled me, my lord, " I said, "It's almost curfew, you should hurry back," and I watched as she hurried through the trees towards the back gate.
I ran behind her and held her covering her mouth before she could scream biting down on her neck drinking her blood and then when she went limp, I snapped her neck, Pixies were always so tasty. I need to get rid of these clothes and I dash back to the horse heading over to the stables and snuck into the Palace burning my clothes in the fireplace. I took a bath and made sure the clothes were ashes as I looked at Elijah's gift, I made sure I was well cleaned and nothing traced back to me as usual, no one was stopping me from getting that crown on my head to be with the man that I love. I didn't know when I drifted off to sleep when I felt a kiss on my cheek, I opened my eyes to see Elijah smiling at me touching my face and he said, "Sorry, it took a while but I was setting treaties with the Pixies and Faes, Faes had a few of their young ladies killed when they came here to visit family," and asked me to be careful help escort ladies to safety when I see them walking alone.
I hated that the Fae and Pixies got involved so I had to stop until everything died down, it had been years, and still no leads, I gave Elijah the gift after he ate and took a bath. I made sure the fire was set again and he looked at me saying, "I love it and I have great news, my mother is happy that I am happy so she will speak to the Elders on your behalf, and if that doesn't work, I have an idea that will work for both of us." I kissed him excited as he took me to bed where we made love and he asked me to be his consort once again, I said, "Yes," and as I was drifting off to sleep, an alarm went off, they found the body of the girl that I had killed earlier, Elijah kiss my forehead before leaving and I smiled falling into a deep sleep.
