The sharp pain in his wrist brought Daniel back to his senses. He cried out in pain, "Let go of me, you asshole!"
Samantha and Evelyn snapped back to reality at Daniel's cry.
"Gavin, let him go!" Evelyn pleaded anxiously.
Samantha's anger was palpable. "Gavin, throw this jerk out now, or you can forget about staying here tonight."
Evelyn tried to reason with her, "Mom, Dad only gets like this when he's drunk. You know he wasn't always like this."
She then turned to Gavin, "Ignore Mom. Help me get Dad to his room."
Gavin nodded, releasing Daniel's wrist. The pain seemed to clear his head a bit, although he was still tipsy. Daniel shot a cold glare at Gavin, "How dare a loser like you treat me like this! Just you wait!"
With that parting shot, Daniel stumbled back to his room.
