Evelyn looked shocked. She covered the cheek where Jessica had slapped her and said angrily, "How dare you hit me!"
Jessica sneered, "I hit you because you deserve it. How many of the tasks I assigned you have you completed? I asked you to negotiate a partnership with the Scott family, and what happened? You failed to secure the deal and even offended them." She continued, "It's one thing to mess up important tasks, but you can't even manage to copy a few documents properly. Do you understand why I hit you? If you don't want to work here, just quit your job." She justified her actions by listing several of Evelyn's mistakes.
