Gavin was taken aback, thinking he might have done something to upset Evelyn. But soon, he understood everything from the look in her eyes. Suddenly, he flashed a bright smile. "Because I love you!"
This statement made Evelyn unable to control her emotions any longer. Tears streamed down her face, but her eyes remained fixed on Gavin. "You should know that I don't have romantic feelings for you. Is it worth being so good to me?"
Gavin took out a tissue, gently wiped her tears away, and smiled softly. "You don't need to feel any burden. Just think of me as a suitor!"
"A suitor?" Evelyn was a bit surprised by Gavin's words.
Gavin nodded. "Just think of me as a man who likes you and is pursuing you. If one day you realize it's really impossible to accept me, you can reject me."
