Hailey’s POV:
By the time I’m fully awake, I’m once again alone with Aiden. I knew Killian had only just left by the bed’s warmth and his scents surrounding me. Aiden had brought me another sandwich; instead of a coffee, I got a caramel iced coffee, and a strawberry smoothie replaced the fruit. I know he meant well, but I hoped Killian and I could talk.
The moment, he sees my disappointed face, Aiden says, “Stop pouting. Oliver wants to spend some time with his dad, too.”
“I know, and it’s not that I’m ungrateful that you’re here. I was just hoping we would have a chance to talk.”
