Chapter 8 As it happened, I had flown the last Paris trip in my September schedule. I would be flying Sydney in October, but my first trip wasn’t until the third, so I did have a few days free in town with nothing more exciting than laundry planned. Chris was working mostly mornings at Marzipan!, and he and Marzipan had posted an audition schedule, but they didn’t start until October, either, so we started meeting at the Button Hole in the early afternoons. If Katie wasn’t sewing in the window or fixing a vacuum cleaner, she’d sit with us for a cup of coffee and a quick bit of chisme before we headed off to roam the city. We explored the Mission, where I introduced Chris to my favorite crepe restaurant and to It Ain’t Heavy, It’s My Sweater, the thrift store where clothes are sold by the
