Chapter 6Wendy tapped out the beat to “Rapture” impatiently against the steering wheel as she watched the front door of the hotel. She just wanted to get inside and get Macaulay all to herself, without an annoying gear stick in the way, without the worry of being seen, without fear of interruption. She had worked her ass off to get it all arranged during his set earlier. The hotel had been the hardest. With everything packed to the gills because of the festival, she’d had to go an hour down the road before finally finding something in a Comfort Inn. The manager had assured her there were plenty of options for getting food delivered, too. Once she got Macaulay in the room, they didn’t need to come out again until dawn. She smiled, thinking of his attention during the drive. True to his wor
