Chapter 2: New Life

1590 Words
Austin’s POV I groan as the sunlight touches my face. I wake up, taking a look at the clock. It is six-thirty in the morning, as usual. No matter when I sleep, that is the time my biological clock wakes me up. I sit on my bed, holding my head. A sigh leaves my lips as I remember what happened yesterday. I married that slut! How did it happen? I don’t know what kind of spell she has used on grandma! Six months back, that b***h suddenly shows up in our house. I was out of the country. When I came back, I saw her, almost living with my grandma. Grandma lives alone, and she is a very kind woman. And that w***e took that opportunity to raise in status. She occupied grandma’s empty heart and pursued grandma to force me into this marriage. I never wanted a gold digger like her in my life. I loathe them. I have a girlfriend from an affluent family, but grandma never accepted her as my wife. Instead, she keeps supporting that b***h. Anger takes over as I keep thinking about the marriage. I showed her clearly yesterday what she is for me. I stand up and go to the washroom to freshen up. Then a wear my regular sweatpants and start walking towards the gym. As I pass the room where that slut is staying, I see Mrs. White coming out from that room with a white gown and the bedsheet in her hand. Everything is covered in blood. What’s wrong? Mrs. White offers me a smile as her eyes fall on me, “good morning, Austin.” She greets me as usual. Mrs. White is in our family before my birth. After my mother’s death, I grew up under her care. This middle-aged lady does really care about me. The stained clothes in her hand started bothering me. I take a good look at the gown. To my wonder, it’s her wedding gown! How can’t I recognize it! The gown has a unique pattern. She must have spent thousands of dollars on this. With no inauguration, I ask her immediately, “What’s this, Mrs. White?” “Oh… this…” She looks towards the clothes she is holding and smiles shyly, “it is normal, Austin, after… the... first… night.” What the hell! First night? How can it be? I know she is not a virgin. As shameless as she, she admitted it in front of me before our wedding. Then what about the blood? Did I judge her wrong? Was it really her first time? The painful scream and her teary eyes from last night flash in my mind. That girl! She is driving me crazy! I don’t know what I should say. She must be playing with my mind. She must have played some tricks. What is her purpose this time? Gaining my sympathy? My eyes are fixed on the clothes. What does she want? How much money does she need? “Don’t be worried, Austin. She is alright and taking a shower.” Mrs. White speaks again. I give a da.mn about how she is or what she is doing. I fu.cking don’t care even if it was her first time! She was the one who digs that hole for herself. She deserves it. She deserves all the pain in the world. I storm out of the corridor and hit the gym. This is the right place for me to be right now. I am f*****g pissed. That girl who has just stepped into adulthood played such a trick in my life. I am Austin Salvatore Rodriguez. Others shiver in the business world, just hearing my name. No one plays with me, let alone my grandma. You will fuc.king pay for what you have done, you little slut. That big doe eye of yours cannot blind me. I will make you regret it. You will regret every f*****g day that we are married. I will destroy you, you little b***h. I will spoil your reputations, and then break you down, bit by bit, until your soul is shattered in millions of pieces. But why on earth there was blood on her gown and the bedsheet? No matter what trick you have played, I’m never going to fall for it. After doing my regular workout, I walk straight towards my room. It’s seven forty-five. Just in time. As I am about to enter, a low melodious humming sound stops my legs. What the hell? She is in my room? Who gives her permission? I storm in and my eyes fall on that b***h. She turns back as soon as she hears my footsteps. She is holding a matching pair of grey suits and trousers, an off-white shirt, and a wine red tie. What on earth is she thinking? I grab her arm furiously as I speak, “who gave you permission to enter my room?” Her eyes travel on my naked torso, and they linger a little longer on my chest, and then she looks into my eyes for a second before replying, “good morning, hubby.” And with that, her lips form a pure smile. What the f**k! Hubby? And what with that smile of hers? What does she want this time? “I am just here to prepare your clothes.” She speaks again innocently, showing me those big doe eyes of hers. I hate them. I don’t need her to prepare my clothes. What does she think of herself? It should have been Linda in her place. Anger takes over. She flinches a little as I tighten my grip. “I don’t need you to prepare my clothes,” I yell in her face. “Always start your day with a smile, hubby and everything will fall into places,” she speaks again, keeping her composure. “You f*****g shut up!” I yelled louder this time. That is what my grandma always says. How dare she! I let go of her hand and turn back, “get out of my room.” There is a silence for another few seconds. I turn my head a little to see what she is doing. She places everything on my bed neatly, and then she straightens her posture again. Her head is hanging low. Is she hiding her tears? It must be her another act of gaining my sympathy. And with that, she rushes out of my room. I am furious. It has been not even a day, and she is already driving me nuts. Cursing her a thousand more times, I head into the bathroom and take a quick shower. Before walking into my closet, my eyes fall on the clothes on my bed. That b***h really has some good taste. I look towards the clock again. It’s five past eight. I sigh. I don’t have much time left. I wear whatever was on my bed and comb my wet hair once. Then I rush downstairs for breakfast. Hopefully Mrs. White will make something good to lighten up my mood. But my foot stops again with the same humming sound. What the hell is she doing this time? As her eyes fall on me, she smiles at me. “Oh, you are just in time, hubby. Look what I've made for you.” She says while putting an enormous plate of English breakfast on the table. The plate is well decorated with beans, breakfast sausages, bacon, poached egg, some mushrooms, and two pieces of hash browns. She rushes again towards the kitchen and comes back with a little basket of toasts and rhubarb sauce. She places everything on the table again. What does she want this time? Why is she doing all these? Then she walks towards the fridge and grabs a carton of juice. She walks back to the table and pours it on the glass. That’s it! I grab her hand again and look into her eyes, “It’s all about money, isn’t it? How much?” She looks surprised at first, but she is quick to hide her actual emotion. “Tell me, how much?” I shout out. Her eyes are on mine and then they travel on my face. Suddenly she moves her other hand, and her finger touches my left cheek softly. What the f**k! What does she want? Then she smiles once again. That innocent smile of hers. Anyone can be deceived by that. Anyone but me. I know exactly what you are. “It is about money. I will tell you later how much I want.” She finally spits out the truth. See, I told you. She is nothing but a gold digger. Just wants to raise her status in society, and my grandma is too naïve. I free her hand, disgusted. Somehow, I expected she will not ask for money. I don’t know why! But why should I expect something like that from her? After all, she has already shown me her proper colors. I hate it, the way she calls me hubby. I hate it, the way she smiles at me, I hate her touch, I hate every f*****g thing about her. I loathe you, Valerie Brown.
