1322 Words
Alexandria I wake up to the smell of bacon coming from the kitchen and I start to realize it's shopping day for mom, Annie, and Me. This day is going to be so exciting; I’m really looking forward to finding my dress for the Blue Moon Ball. With the Blue Moon Ball next weekend, I am really hoping that I can find what I’m looking for, I don’t want to have to settle for any dress. I want MY dress. When I finally roll out of bed and start my morning routine, I start the shower and while the water heats up, I brush my teeth and then I step inside and wash my hair and body with my favorite hibiscus body wash and vanilla shampoo. When I’m done in the bathroom I make my way into my bedroom to get dress in my favorite black skinny jeans with rips in the knee and a few small rips on the thigh, and put on my white tank top under my black pull over hoodie, before I get my shoes on I see my phone buzzing like crazy so I walk to the end table next to my bed and see a text from Annie checking to see if I’m awake yet. Annie: Hey girl! Are you awake yet? You need to get a move on, I’m on my way to your place so we can get our shopping on. Me: Yes girl! I’m awake and showered, head on over mom is making breakfast! I’ll see you in a bit. Annie: Okay see you soon xoxo After I’m dressed, I put on my red high top converse shoes and make my way down the stairs to eat the amazing deliciousness mom made for us. By the time I make it to the kitchen Annie is already eating the delicious breakfast mom made....off her own plate of course. But either way, I’m looking forward to spending the day with two of my favorite people. I begin by sitting at the table to eat my breakfast, shortly after sitting my mom joins us and starts on her plate of food. My mom makes the best bacon, pancakes, and eggs. Don’t even get me started on her homemade hash browns too, those are amazing. After breakfast, we manage to get the kitchen cleaned up and the dishes are done in no time, and we make our way out to the car to head to the mall to find our dresses for the Ball next weekend. I already have my dress in mind it's just a matter of finding the perfect one. We make it to the mall in no time and I drag my mom and Annie into the fancy dress shop and browse around, I find pink frilly dresses, and green poufy dresses, and I find purple princess dresses, but nothing slim and blue like I want. After searching through about five different stores, I’m beginning to lose hope that I will ever find my dress. I look over to Annie and see that she has found hers and my mom even found one for herself too. “Annie, I can't believe it was so easy for you to find your dress, even my mom found one. I’m beginning to think I’ll never find my dress.” Annie and my look over at me with sympathy in their eyes and I know they are trying to stay hopeful for me and help me not lose hope in ever finding my dress, but no matter what they say or do I am losing hope. And fast. Annie walks closer to me and pulls me into her side and throws her arm over my shoulder. “Don’t worry Alex, we will find your dress, don’t lose hope.” “Yea, easier said than done. Let’s just go home, there is nothing here for me. Maybe I will just stay home from the ball this year.” If I can’t find the perfect dress, then I might as well not go, I want to look perfect for when I find my mate and I want to be able to blow him away when he sees me for the first time. I want to have the right dress for my first time at the Blue Moon Ball. “No way! You are going with me and your parents to the ball, this is your year to finally go and maybe even find your mate.” Annie is right I can't skip out this year, this is my first year of finally being able to attend the Blue Moon Ball, but I still need to find a dress before I decide to even think about going. I MUST find a dress so I can go. Just as we are about to walk out of the mall a beautiful blue gown with crystal accents catches my eye. I stop dead like I am glued to the floor, my mom and Annie keep going, it takes them a little longer to notice I am no longer following them, when they realize I am not with them, they stop as well and turn around to find me staring at this beautiful gown in the window of this store. my mom and Annie walk back towards me and stop with each of them on each side of me. “Alex honey, what’s wrong?” “This is it, mom! This is my dress, look at it, it's perfect the way the blue looks with the accent crystals and how it has the sheer lace sleeves and the way the dress grazes the floor ever so slightly and the train...it’s beautiful and it's perfect.... let's go in and I can try it on.” They both nod at me and we walk into the store and there is a sales lady that greets us not far from the entrance. “Hello ladies, welcome, is there anything I can help you find today?” My mom is quick to respond. “Yes please, my daughter would like to try on that blue dress you have in the window.” “Of course, ma’am, just give me a few minutes to go grab it and I’ll set her up in a fitting room.” “Thank you so much.” I’m so beyond excited I can barely contain myself; I feel like a kid in a candy store, I can't believe I found my dress. As I make my way to the fitting rooms, I walk inside and close the door and begin to strip off my street clothes and slip into this beautiful dress, once I have the side zipped and I look at myself in the mirror and do a couple turns to see what it looks like from all angles, I step outside to show my mom and Annie. “Well, what do you guys think?” I get a simple but very high pitch shriek from Annie, which makes me think she approves and that she likes it too. Then my mom takes a moment to respond and when I look at her, I can see her eyes are wet with unshed tears, like she thinks I am getting married or something. Then she walks close to me and gently grabs my hands. “Oh Alex, Honey it's perfect. You look beautiful! It matches your eyes perfectly and it makes your hair look shimmery and so bright, you look stunning. That’s definitely the dress.” All I can do is smile after the way my mom complimented me in the dress. So, I guess that means I’m getting the dress. As I make my way back inside to the dressing room, I’m stopped by none other than Jackie herself, I guess she saw me in here and came in to mess with me. Doesn’t she have better things to do with her time.
