Chapter 7: Dragonet

Lux was worried and he kept pacing round Jamie who was still in her protective circle. The Queen had magicked a bed inside the circle and Jamie was currently sleeping. Her breathing was laboured and Lux was concerned about what she had said, that Raoul was her one true mate.  Maybe he should contact Richard, he was in trouble already and leaving it much longer would just make the situation worse. Lux sighed and sat down in the chair.

“It is just the affect of the parasite” Fluff mind-linked as he jumped up on Lux’s lap. He settled down and started to purr, as Lux fussed him. Fluff and Lux suddenly eyelids and they both fell soundly asleep. They  did not notice a white lizard like creature crawl through the window. It crept along the floor towards the magic circle.

A young males voice boomed through Jamie’s mind “Get up! We don’t have much time!” 

Jamie woke and sat up. “Hello?” She said out loud.

“Shhhh! Mindlink only! We don’t want to wake the demon and the hair ball” The voice said.

“OK, who are you?” Jamie mindlinked

“I am Flint and I have been sent by the elders to come and get you” Flint said with a proud voice.

“The elders?” Jamie asked through her mind link.

“Yes, now come on! I can’t teleport you out because of that Demon, so we need to get out of the building!” Flint said

“I can’t, the protective circle is stopping me going anywhere!” Jamie said frustrated. She could not say why, but she felt it was important to go.

“This? Pah!” Flint said and  Jamie heard a chirp and felt the barrier go down. Jamie got up and she felt something jump up with a long staff in it’s mouth. Jamie took the staff and her hand accidentally touched the creature’s head. Instantly, Jamie saw a brightly golden glowing shape in her minds eye. 

“You are a dragon!” Jamie gasped 

“Technically a Dragonet as I am under 500 years old and my wings have not fully grown yet” Flint said as he made his way to the door. “Come on! One of your friends will figure out what is happening!” Flint said as he chirped again and the door opened.

Jamie slowly walked out and followed the golden glowing dragon in her mind. She hoped her friends would forgive her for going without them.

Meanwhile Lux was trying his best to hide in the Dream Realm, but when it came to Eric and Richard, it was a useless endeavour. Especially when Richard had let Amon take over.

“Lux, come out now! Dream Walker you may be, but I am still your Alpha” Amon boomed.

“I should never have sworn allegiance to you!” Lux muttered under his breath as he hid behind a rock.

“Ahh Lux there you are! Please don’t vanish again, it is perturbing us both immensely” Eric said behind Lux as Amon shimmered in front of him.

“Lux report!” Amon said 

“Jeeze would it hurt to ask how I am?” Lux said folding his arms.

 Eric and Amon looked at each other before Eric said “what trouble has she got into now?”

“Nothing! She perfectly safe!” Lux said

“Oh really?” Amon said

“Yes of course! Why wouldn’t she be?” Lux said

“Isn’t it funny Jenny and Bella almost said exactly the same thing? Plus I can tell when you are lying” Eric said his eyes narrowing.

Dam those Rogue gifts of Eric’s! Lux privately cursed.

“Did you take her to the thermal pool as instructed?” Amon asked 

“Yes, I would never disobey a direct order! Lux said defensively.

“Did she enjoy it and is she better? I ask this Lux because we can’t f*****g feel her through our mate Mark! ” Eric suddenly roared

“Nor can we see her when we Scry! So tell us what has happened now or so help me Chaos I will return you to the source!” Amon roared

“Look, I know you are pissed,  but just know we are taking the best of care of the Princess” Lux started to say when Lux felt a sharp pain and dispersed. 

“I am going to f*****g kill him!” Eric growled

“Get in line! What is she up too?” Amon said as he let Richard take over,

“No vision on the scry means she either got one chaos of a cloaking spell or...” Eric said

“or?” Richard said

“She is in Zuy. Either way it is not good” Eric grumped.

“What about our mate marks?” Richard said worried

“You know as well as I do that can only mean one of two things” Eric said seriously.

“Something is blocking it or she is dead” Richard said 

“Lux said she was safe” Eric said fear creeping into his heart. He missed her and even though they were miles apart he still had always felt her. Not now.

“How Long till you are back in the capital?” Richard asked knowing that Eric was as concerned as he was.

“2 weeks” Eric said.

“Well we just have to keep trying to catch Lux, he can’t keep awake forever!” Richard growled and Eric nodded.

Lux opened his eyes to find Fluff biting down on his finger. “Thanks you got me out of a tight spot” Lux said appreactivley.

“Don’t thank me just yet, she has gone” Fluff said as released Lux’s finger.

“Gone?” Lux said suddenly

“Yes bloody gone!” The trail ends just outside the building, my guess is she teleported away with something” Amaethon said sneezing. His nose had never smell this scent before.

“Thing?” Lux said

“Yes, the same thing that managed to break the magic circle. I can only think of one creature that could do that” Fluff said worried

“Which is?” Lux said

“Dragons!” Amaethon said

“Ahh s**t!” Lux cursed. Dragons where dangerous and unpredictable, what the hell did they want with Princess? He thought.
