Chapter 26: Taken

“We need to find her!” Lux said clearly stressed, the issue is that he had no idea where to start!

“Wait, didn’t the Queen say she would be in the middle of the storm?” Dion asked

“Yes, but what has that got to do with anything?” Lux snapped

“Well maybe the Queen was hinting at the location of Kitten” Dion said slowly.

“She is in the eye Of the hurricane! We just have to follow the storm clouds!” Lux said

“Exactly! Let’s hope we are not too late. I have got a bad feeling about this!” Dion said as Lux turned into Loki.

“Let’s go!” Loki growled.

Heaven’s Gate Harbour 

“Boy, they are not letting up!” Vanth Mindlinked. It was true the chaos energy balls kept pounding the fire dome.

“Not for much longer” Jamie said triumphantly as her Air Element had finished creating the hurricane. With a final screech the wind tunnel hit the sea. Jamie heard the ships starting to crash against the giant rock spikes. The black chaos energy balls started to reduce as the chaos Mages started to desperately steady the ships against the sheer elemental force.

“Windsoul, how are we doing with the portals?” Jamie mindlinked

“We are almost through, most of the citizens are waiting” Windsoul replied.

“Fluff?” Jamie mind-linked

“Solders are ready and the Dragon’s Doom casks has been emptied into the dock!  The Fire fairy is taking the opportunity to mend the barrier” Fluff reported.

“Good. By the Goddess, we might get through this!” Jamie muttered.

The hurricane kept raging and a good third of the ships were now being sunk. Some of the captains had tried to beach their ships so their men could survive. These men were were met with harbour’s soldiers lead by a large black cat.

Suddenly, the hurricane started to weaken as the Chaos weather Mages were furiously casting counter spells.

“Air, bring the lightning” Jamie ordered. Suddenly the Sky  in front of the harbour was filled with lightning strikes. Some of the hit the ships and Jamie sensed them burning.

“Yes we might make it out of this alive!” Jamie said.

Thule’s Capital - the war room

“Dam it!” One of the General’s said as he watch his fleet being destroyed in a scrying pool.

“She has gotten much more powerful” Navinder said admiringly.

“She? Are you suggesting that one person is doing all this? There is at least 3 elements at work here!” the General said disbelieving.

“Oh she will have all four elements on the go. She is what is standing between us and complete destruction of that supply line” Navinder said casually.

“But she will tire soon, Kitten will be burning energy fast” Raoul said stroking his chin. He was impressed with the show of power on display and could not wait to control it.

“What do you want us to do?” the General asked. He hoped it would be to withdraw, it would be a prudent decision. However, he knew the new Lord Commander was not prudent.

Raoul waved his hand and the image changed to the 5 mages that had managed to portal in.

“Release the fog and make sure you follow my orders down to the letter” Raoul commanded and the War Mage nodded. The War Mages murmured a spell and suddenly a sickly green fog started to emerge from their hands.

“Ahh sleep fog! An excellent move Raoul!” Navinder said 

“Indeed, it is hard to fight as it is a natural behaviour and Kitten will be tired already. She also hemmed herself in with that fire dome” Raoul said with a smirk.

“We will be together soon Kitten. Soon, very soon” He thought privately.

Jamie was beginning to tire. Her body ached and she was constantly on edge waiting for the enemies next moved. She had reduced the number of warships by half, she reckoned, but it was still were too many! She hoped the Kraken would be here soon.

As if the Kraken had heard her prayers, a large thick brown tentacle came out of the sea and wrapped itself around one of the ships. It broke it into pieces as another one emerged from the water. Jamie could see it all happening in her minds eye.

“You are massive!” Jamie mind linked shocked. It was true, the Kraken was over a league across and that was just the body alone!

“I am here Moon Child, leave these two leggers to me!” The Kraken boomed in Jamie’s mind.

“I can’t tell you how happy I am to see you!” Jamie said almost laughing with relief. It was over! She had beaten them back, her dreams would not come through. The people would be saved!

Amaethon growled a warning which instantly alerted Jamie. 

“What is it?” Jamie said but Amaethon just laid down and started to sleep.

“Amaethon? Amaethon?!” Jamie said but she began to yawn. 

“Stay awake Jamie! This is sleeping fog!” Vanth screamed in Jamie’s mind. But it was too late, Jamie had laid down on the ground and fallen asleep.

Jamie was completely unaware of the 5 War Mages appearing beside her or the spells which the cast. Each Mage cast a spell and a sliver snake appeared round each of her legs and arms. The snakes coiled tightly and the snake eyes flashed before becoming solid metal.

Instantly, the wind dropped and the sky began to clear, the fire dome disappeared and the glacial wall melted. The stone spikes dispersed along with the Elements Corporal forms. Jamie had been bound and her powers were being drained by the sliver snakes. The lead War Mage smiled as he opened a portal and carried Jamie through. The other Mages followed and the portal closed.
