Chapter 31: Prince

“I am guessing things are going well judging by the smile that is on your face” Navinder said casually as Raoul walked into the war room.

“Yes, she is already marked and belives I am her fated mate” Raoul said happily.

“You are her fated mate and it is no more then you deserve for your service to the Empress. Have you managed to get any useful information from her?” Navinder asked as a map of the mortal realm emerged in the scrying pool.

“No, unfortunately not. Her memories seem a little fuzzy” Raoul said scanning the map.

“To be expected with such strong primordial magic, we will give her time. In the meantime, shall we making things a little bit more uncomfortable for an old friend?” Navinder smirked.

“Oh let’s!” Raoul said returning the smirk.

Isolated Mountainous region some where in the mortal realm 

After Amon had fallen unconscious, his body reverted back to Richard. His friend’s took him to a nearby cave and laid him down. There was no way that they could risk taking him anywhere near humans at the moment.

Harper lit a fire, whilst Lux and Edward kept guard at the front of the cave.

“I didn’t think it was possible!” Lux said leaning on the cave wall.

“Only a high Goddess can do it. There was rumours a few thousand years ago about a Luna knife” Edward said with a sigh.

“Luna Knife?” Lux asked 

“Aye. A knife made of pure dragon glass and sliver from the Moon Goddess’s garden. Said to be sharp enough to cut through most things. It went missing though, no one knew anything about it’s location” Edward said stroking his chin.

“Meaning the Empress must of stolen it” Lux said translating and Edward smiled.

“For a high Goddess she sure does have sticky fingers” Edward said and Lux chuckled.

“Hey Lux? I think you better get into the dream realm and find Richard” Harper said

“Why? You have had a vision?” Edward asked worried and Harper nodded. Lux walked and laid down by the fire. He closed his eyes and counted back from 10.

Dream Realm

The realm seemed to sense Richard’s mood, as it put him on top of a rocky outcrop over looking a desolate wasteland. He had sat down feeling completely destroyed as the bone chilling wind howled. Snow began to fall, but Richard didn’t care, he wanted the void to swallow him up. At least the pain would stop.

The hairs on the back of his neck stood up as he sensed a presence.

“I really would not be here if I were you” Richard growled.

“Oh, come now Richard is that how Ex- lovers greet each other?” the Empress said casually.

Richard turned and studied her. She was dressed in a silver dress with shiny red shoes. Her black hair was tied into a bun at the top of her head and her eyes were constantly changing colour. She was adorned with jewellery, that would sometimes come alive and move, or change completely in form.

“I don’t understand how I ever thought you beautiful” Richard scoffed as he looked back to the wasteland.

“Now that is just plain rude, especially as I came with a kind offer” The Empress said. She willed a metal chair in existence and sat down on it. 

“There is nothing you can offer me!” Richard said

“Come now, we both know that is not strictly true. We may have had our...issues in the past, but I am still incredibly fond of my little hybrid Prince” The Empress pointed out.

“I renounced the title a long time ago” Richard growled again

“Yes, yes! You fell in love and said you didn’t want to rule the Chaos Kingdom. I was always curious though if the Moonchild knows who you actually are” The Empress said sweetly.

“I told you, I didn’t want to challenge you and have any claim on that realm. Now piss off Eris!” Richard snapped. Amon was not just an Alpha demon, he was thee Alpha. Once his father, the last King of the Realm of Chaos was banished to the void, the Throne was technically Amon’s and Richard’s. Their father had rejected him due to his mother being a human, so Richard had to fight his way up in the Chaos’s army. The King had never managed to sire another child and as the only heir, Richard was the rightful ruler. But he had rejected it in order to be with the Goddess of Wild Magic.

As soon as Richard had saw the Goddess riding on the Goddess of Horses, his heart stopped beating. He knew in that moment that she was the centre of his world and he would give up everything to be with her. 

“Huh! Didn’t answer my question though. I mean it makes perfect sense that the rightful King of the Realm of Chaos, would be destined to mate with the Princess of the Realm of light. I suppose Mother Universe and Father Light were trying to bring balance again. What better way then with Love!”  The Empress said in a mocking tone before bursting out in hysterical laughter. The sound grated on Richard’s ears and before he knew what he was doing,  he was stood over her with his hands round her neck. She kept on laughing as he choked her.

The body disappeared, before he heard her voice again.

“Oh I do love it when you get rough with me Richard! But there will be time for foreplay later” Eris said as she stood behind him. Richard growled and turned.

“What do you want?” Richard roared. He had enough of her mind games.

“As I said, I am here to help. I can give you your mate back, after all Raoul is one of my followers!” Eris said smoothly.

“And what do you want in return?” Richard said

“You, and your friend's to come back and bind yourself to me. You will fight at my command and together we will other throw the realm of light. I will also require you to become my mate and husband. You may have the Moon Child as your Little w***e and play thing, but you will come to my bed when required. Think of it Richard, our descendants will rule all the realms!” The Empress said gleefully.

“So you will give me Jamie back if I marry you, f**k you and sire your children?” Richard said calmly.

“Yes and to lead my armies to victory!” Eris said sensing Richard may be thinking about it.

“Richard don’t do it! We will get Princess back, you must trust in your destiny and us!” Lux said shimmering in.

“She means everything to me! I could have her back now!” Richard growled.

“Exactly Richard! You could have her back in your arms within an hour and instead of being one of a trio with a Rogue, you will have two females fulfilling every desire” Eris said in a seductive tone.

Richard thought about it for a moment, it was tempting even if he would have to be married to the Empress.

“Jamie would never agree to that! She would never let her friends be consumed by chaos!” Lux said 

“Shut up Lux!” Eris said as she waved her hand sending Lux flying into the rock face cracking his ribs.

This quickly brought Richard to his sense, how could he be with a female that treated his friends so? How could he let her near Jamie? The truth is she would probably send Jamie soul to the Void as soon as possible. No, the Empress want him to secure her on position on the throne!

He grabbed the Empress by the neck and said “I would not f**k you if your were the last female in all the realms!”

“You will regret your decision, you have sealed her fate!” Eris gasped.

“You lay a hand on her and I will send you to the void myself” Richard said his eyes turning black.

“Eris! I told you not to come into my domain, yet here you are. This has most displeased me!” Niorun said as he helped Lux up.

“This does not concern you Niorun!” Eris gasped.

“I see your listening skills have not improved! You are in my realm and you can now leave” Niorun said and the Empress dispersed.

“Thank you Niorun” Lux said respectfully.

“It is fine Lux. I am obviously aware of what has happened and my Nice’s dreams are not pleasant!” Niorun Said.

“What is she here now?”Richard said hopefully.

“I would not advise you see her” Niorun said kindly.

“Please!” Richard begged

“As you wish” Niorun said bowing his head. 

The scene changed and suddenly the three of them were standing in a forest. Richard looked round and suddenly heard a women crying.

“Lux?” Richard said as he started walking towards the sound.

“Right behind you!” Lux said as he followed him.

After a while the came to a clearing and they stopped dead at what they saw.

“Jamie?” Lux whispered. Jamie was there but her hair was gray, her eyes completely white and she was so thin all her bones where showing through. She was held bound to the tree truck, 2 meters off the ground, unable to move. Her body was wrapped with gold barbed wire, each barb digging deeply into Jamie’s body. Her blood was dripping from all the wounds on her body on to a red rose bush below.

“My mates? Have you seen my mates?” Jamie kept repeating over and over again.

“What is this? Why haven’t you got her down Niorun?” Richard roared.

Niorun Shimmered in and said “This is a projection of her soul’s tournament, I cannot change it”

“Her soul’s torment?” Lux said

“Raoul has put a Grimlock on Jamie, forcing her heart to love someone who she does not want to. He has created the perfect prison, but her soul, her soul is aware” Niorun Said sadly.

“Aware that her so called mate is a fraud!” Richard growled 

“Exactly, she is suffering greatly and wants to die” Niorun said sadly.

Richard unfurled his wing and flew up to her.

“Princess?” Richard said softly touching the part of her face that did not have the wire digging in.

“My mates, have you seen them?” She murmured weakly

“Yes Princess, I have” Richard said softly

“You have?” Jamie said 

“Yes Love” Richard said gently. 

“Tell my mates I love them please. That I miss them and I am sorry. So sorry” Jamie said as she cried tears of blood.

“And they love you! They are coming for you, so you must survive. Can you do that for them?” Richard said Firmly.

“But it hurts! It hurts so much!” Jamie moaned and Richard felt his heart break again.

“You must survive! Do you hear me Jamie? Survive for your mates!” Richard said firmly 

“For my mates, I will survive” Jamie murmured 

“Swear it!” Richard said

“I...I swear” Jamie said and Richard kissed her lips.

“Hang in my love, I am coming and I swear I will destroy Raoul!” Richard growled.

“My mate, have you seen them?” Jamie murmured again and Richard knew the conversation was over. Jamie’s soul had continued it’s cycle of torment. 

Richard landed on the ground next to Lux. “Does she leave this place?” Richard asked

“Technically she is not actually here, it is a projection like I said. But she would have heard your message” Niorun said.

“Good, I will be back to visit. Often” Richard said 

“You can with my blessing” Niorun said

“I think it is time we woke up, don’t you Lux?” Richard said and Lux nodded. They both closed their eyes and woke up back in the cave. Apart from it is different, there was bit of furniture and basic luxuries.

“What the chaos?” Richard said

“By the Gods, you are awake!” Harper said

“How long have we been out?” Lux said quickly 

“2 months and there is a lot to catch up on!” Edward said walking in.
