Chapter Nine Violence and Hints of Treachery Thirty-six splendidly rewarding hours later, Jeri woke up sprawled out over most of one double bed. Music still played over the muted roar of the air conditioner, but not loudly enough to disturb sleep. As usual Toni and Lilli slept on; it wasn’t much after seven.
