Alpha's dangerous Mate

Chapter 6

I felt my wolf, Jimmy feeling more excited as we approached my office building. I don't know why he's this hyperactive and over the moon. I just ignored him, yawning lazily.

"Can you just stop it? You're acting like a pup" I rolled my eyes at him.

"You won't understand" He said to me, excitement overflowing from him. "You will know soon"

"Whatever!" I hissed with a frustrated sigh. I hate when he is keeping me in the dark.

"Your grandfather wants to talk to you but you're blocking him, please unblock him so he will stop making my life a living hell" My beta, Zane pleaded with me as we headed to the elevator.

"Just let him complain, Zane. I know he has nothing new to tell me at this moment. Or better still, block him too" I replied lazily. I just don't want any of my grandfather's persuasions to look for mate that I don't even have. That's why I choose to block him from mind-linking me. And I know Zane will be the one to bear the consequences.

The old man won't let him be.

"But you know that I can't do that" He grumbled, running his hand through his brown hair in frustration while I just laughed at him.

Zane and I had been best friends ever since we were pup. His father was the beta too. When my father, the Alpha died, I immediately took over as Alpha, but he had to wait to get to eighteen before taking over as beta.

"I'm sorry, Zane but I just can't handle his nagging right now" I tried to placate his mood.

"Yes, Alpha" Zane replied, bowing his head slightly to me in a joking manner while I laughed at his childish behavior.

"Yes, we don't need his patient preaching anymore" Jimmy said to me, while I just rolled my eyes. I don't really understand Jimmy at all. He was always annoyed when my grandfather preaches to us about patient, and he doesn't say anything or do anything when he asks me to arrange a party so I can find my mate. He is really a weird wolf.

We got into the elevator and Zane pressed the floor that we're going to.

The happiness from my wolf increased when we got down from the elevator, and I was about to reprimand him when I totally lost myself. I froze momentarily as a sweet scent wafted into my nose and I forgot how to talk. It smelled like sandalwood and ocean breeze. It was so alluring that it almost drove me crazy.

Zane just stared at me speechlessly, a wide smile on his face, he has detected what was going on.

My inner wolf stirred even more in jubilation.

I followed the scent searching for it's source. It was from my office and I wondered who it could be that possessed such a delicious scent.

I got to the space where my office was located and froze instantly. The sweet and delicious scent was coming from Alice my secretary.

"Mate"

I heard my wolf purred while I remained frozen in place.

My secretary that's been working for me for the past two years, is now my mate?

How is that even possible? I mean, she is also a werewolf and I know she is not mated to any wolf but why now? After all this years?

I saw her eyes fixed on me momentarily as she studied me from head to toe. I didn't feel happy about that because it was as if she was seeing me for the first time. And why does Alice seem so different today?

She quickly averted her gaze the moment our eyes met lingered, she faced her computer, ready to get back to work and I instantly felt a sharp pain in my heart. Her silent rejection hurts me.

I growled the word 'mate' out loud as I rushed over to her in one stride.

I have never felt this way before, being in a situation where I couldn't control my impulse was never my thing. But at this moment, I felt like doing nothing but to act on my impulse. It's like I was being controlled by something so strong and invisible. And I know it's the mate pull.

But how come I'm the only that's affected?

I slowly extends my hand towards her and to my surprise, she quickly quickly stood up and became at alert and took some steps away from me. My heart shattered. Her reaction was something I never imagined.

"Umm... what are you doing?" She looks at me warily.

Her voice sounds like an angel, but a harsh angel. I felt like a fool, but still, I proceeded to answer her question.

"You're my mate" I said as a matter of fact. Or don't she feel the way I feel? Is it only me that the mate pull is affecting? But I could clearly see her trying to control herself, suppressing the obvious want in her eyes.

Maybe she doesn't want me to be her mate?

"Are you not happy to be my mate?" I asked her, looking at her curiously.

"I'm sorry, you've got the wrong person. What exactly is mate?" She asked and I was thrown off.

I think something is wrong somewhere, I muttered to Jimmy who was also feeling hurt as I left her and turned towards my office.

I heard her sigh in relief as she sat back on her chair.

I opened the door and walked in, slamming it loudly behind me.

"Rick, please take it easy" Zane said to me while I threw him a deadly glance before facing the window. One hand in my pocket and the other covering my mouth. My wolf was also furious and sad at the same time.

Our mate doesn't want us.

"What just happened, Zane?" I hurriedly turned to face my beta. "She doesn't want me to be her mate, that I can under. But, why is she pretending not to know what mate is? She is a werewolf for crying out loud"

"I think you should calm down, Rick and talk to her" Zane said, trying to calm me down. I could feel sadness in his eyes too He doesn't like me feeling this way.

"But it's not supposed to be this way when I finally found my mate. Is the Moon Goddess messing with me? You met yours and she accepted you, so why is mine rejecting me?" I breathed out in frustration.

"Just calm down, Rick. The most important thing is that you finally found her. Every other work is left to you if you really want her. She might be going through something and might not be in the right frame of mind. If you could remember, she was stunned and lost momentarily when she saw you, before regaining herself. She obviously felt the same way and you need to find out why she is acting this way. Just call her in and have a chat with her"

"Zane is right. Give mate a time and let's get to know her first. We can figure out what is wrong with her" Jimmy second Zane's notion.

"Thanks, man" I sighed and said to Zane.

"You're welcome, Alpha" He smiled and patted my shoulder before turning around. "I need to get to work" He said and left my office.

"Our mate is so beautiful and sexy" Jimmy purred in my head.

"I know too, I want to just grab her and kiss her so badly. I can't wait to mark her as mine" I replied, raking my hand through my hair.

"Let's do it now, huh?" Jimmy purred and I had to laugh out loud.

"You this horny wolf. Do you want to rape her? I thought you said we should give her time?" I teased my wolf.

"Yes, but at least you're laughing now" Jimmy countered while I just shook my head. I love my wolf so much, he is the best gift I have ever had while staying alone. Even though he ignores me sometimes when he also gets fade up with waiting, he always makes me smile too.

"I love you too, but can you just focus on our mate?"

"I know, but what do we do?"

"She is your secretary! Call her inside, and talk to her" Jimmy suggested.

"She is not just my secretary, but a wolf too. Can you try to communicate with her wolf? Maybe we can find out why she is raising a wall around her?" I suggested a better option.

"I can't feel her wolf" Jimmy said.

"What, why?" I gasped in shock.

"I think her wolf is dormant for an unknown reason, so I can't communicate with her"

I tried to communicate with Alice through the link but was blocked. I can't get through. I can't even feel like link.

"Oh, this is getting serious. Which means that, our Mate must have been going through a lot without our knowledge. That explains the reason why we couldn't feel her all those why" I sighed as sadness fills my heart. I can't wait to know what is wrong with her.

"Me too. Now, stop talking and call her in already" Jimmy said, shutting me up..

Mmmm... I cleared my throat, anxiety took over as headed towards the door. Since I couldn't mind link her, I have to call her through the phone.

"Just relax" Jimmy admonishes, while I roll my eyes at him. As if he is not nervous too.

The phone rang once and her beautiful voice came through the phone.

"Hello sir" her soothing and enchanting voice echos in my head, but I frowned at the 'sir' she used. I'm now her mate!

"That is not the important thing now" Jimmy interrupted my thoughts. "She doesn't refer to you as Alpha like before" He reminded me.

"Oh that's true" I thought out loud.

"Sir?" Her voice came through the phone once again.

"Hmmmm.... Come to my office, Alice" I cleared my throat and commanded.

"Yes sir" she responded, before I ended the call.

I went to my desk and quickly sat down on the chair and adjusted myself properly.

A knock came to the door before it was pushed open to reveal my beautiful mate adorned in black skirt and black blouse. Alice has been working as my secretary for like two years now. And she has been in the pack all her life, how come I'm just seeing her this stunning and incredibly gorgeous?

Her fiery red hair that was pulled back in a ponytail, her charming blue orbs, her gleaming pale skin, her curves like an hour glass. And her thin and inviting lips which I wish to ravish so badly.

Honestly, I have never seen her this way before, but since the Moon Goddess made her my mate, it made me to start realizing just how beautiful she is and I want her to be mine forever. I'm more than grateful that she is my mate, she is mine!

And I will surely get her to accept me!
