Prince Harad's POV
We cruised through the streets of Human Town.
As the day went by, the streets pulsed with activity. Along with humans, I could sense several werewolves from Crescent Moon as well as some from other packs. The latter were probably on their way to larger cities.
This city is well-organized. Each avenue, boulevard, and street has been thoughtfully sectioned off to provide specialized services. We were now driving towards the neighborhood where a variety of traditional dishes from all around the world are offered.
We just couldn't decide from the vast array of flavors. There were delicious Italian dishes, soul-warming African stews, sophisticated French cuisine, and tasty Caribbean flavors. Moreover, there was a host of fast-food chains as well in this area. In any case, it smelled amazingly good here, and my mouth was already watering.
Then it caught my eye, standing there all big and flashy. Stan's Fast Food and More. I just couldn't resist staring at the name displayed high above a magnificent building with large windows. The glass was tinted, but I was certain that those dining could observe us outside. There was an advertisement showcasing images of roasted chicken and beef dishes paired with potato salad and coleslaw. My heart rate escalated for an unknown reason, and I struggled to rip my eyes away from the entrance.
“This is it. I like all the meat,” I told Walter with gusto, without taking my eyes off the eatery. The Chief Warrior parked the eye-catching Maserati in the last vacant parking spot. Curious heads turned to take in the car and riders; women flashed mischievous grins, eager for any chance of meeting someone famous or notable enough that they could have their picture taken with them.
Well, I was absolutely positive that we would exceed their expectations. Lycans have amazing physiques, and humans, married or single, often drool when they see us. The eight-pack and our masculine features are a guaranteed winning combination that never fails to impress.
I stepped outside and put on my dark glasses. Immediately, I heard a flurry of gasps, and I smiled. If only my mate could also react this way, in just a few hours' time, I would be one lucky man. I wouldn't disappoint her; she was a wolf, so we could go straight to the apartment that Alpha Dimitri had made available to me in his packhouse.
The mere thought of having full control over my mate's body, with her completely submitting herself to me for pleasure, ignited a primal longing in me. My member stirred as I envisioned having every inch of her flesh at my mercy, calling out to be ravished by my touch and passion.
Damn! Hopefully, she would show up soon; I was so ready for her.
The three of us entered the sleek, upscale restaurant. Today we did not choose the terrace; instead, we opted for a secluded table in the corner with an overview of the entrance. I eagerly snatched up a menu as ravenous hunger gnawed at me; I just wanted lots of meat! My Lycan needed energy since we had already burned too much over the past few hours.
A long-legged, sexy waitress walked to our table, swaying her hips. She came to a stop just inches away from me. I frowned; she was human, and Xan didn't like her. His deep-throated snarls echoed in my mind, making it almost impossible to focus on the menu.
“What will it be for the gentlemen? Do you share or each one separately?” she asked sultrily.
When I lifted my gaze upwards, I found my face almost between her breasts. Twisting to look at my brother, I saw him in a struggle with his wolf as his eyes changed from blue to dark.
“What's up, man?” I asked him. He shook his head, disoriented.
'Xin. That remark from the waitress didn't sit well with him,' he informed me in the mind link. 'He scolds her for everything dirty and filthy. Now that he has seen his mate, he doesn't want another woman near us.'
Quickly, I ordered a bucket meal with every type of meat, both spicy and regular. My intention was for the woman standing near our table to leave. Xan had also begun rebelling against her presence.
The waitress, however, remained oblivious to our internal struggles as she continued to play her cards. She probably saw herself romping in bed with three Lycans tonight. After all, her clothes and attitude seemed more likely to belong to someone living that kind of lifestyle than earning an income by working here.
"And what do you plan to use for rinsing all the meat?" she asked seductively. "Should it be sweet or sour?”
Goddess! Did she really have no shame?
"A large bottle of freshly squeezed juice, please,” I sighed impatiently that she couldn't accept our rejection. Frustrated by her lack of understanding, I lifted my steely eyes towards hers menacingly. Shocked by what she read in them, she finally made haste to disappear. Even then, though, she still shook her flat ass at us, causing me to roll my eyes.
As I turned back to the table, my eyes landed on the cashier engrossed in conversation with a customer. A shot of jealousy spiked in me, and Xan got on all fours abruptly. My instincts registered that this woman's appearance matched that of my mate; her hair length and profile were identical. My gaze remained fixated upon her like an eagle hunting its prey until another person with white blonde locks came up behind her, whispering something into her ear.
Snow-blonde and midnight-black! Slowly, I squinted my eyes.
"Herod!" I exclaimed, hushed but excited. "Don't draw any attention, just direct your gaze towards the cash register and observe closely. Two women are standing there. They resemble our mates a lot."
My twin brother froze, his pupils dilating with hope and longing.
“Are you sure it is them?” he inquired with restrained enthusiasm. “Please, Harad, let it be them!”
I could hear his pulse thundering in my head, a string between twins. As if agreed, we took some sniffs in the air. No, it was not the same scent as my mate's, but this one was still alluring. It made me want to move closer to the source and stick my nose in her hair. However, this feeling wasn't similar to what I felt yesterday when I saw my mate in Crescent Moon's grand ballroom.
“Yeah. The resemblance is striking, but no mate pull here, brother,” Herod ultimately sighed in disappointment. "And yet I find myself strangely drawn to them. I shouldn't feel this way. It is contradictory on every level, possessing such wonderful feelings for one while committed to the other feels inappropriate at best. Man, for sure, there is no room for flings in my life anymore!”
“Same here. But there is something that truly intrigues me about these two. Xan just stares at them adoringly but doesn't recognize any of them as my mate,” I replied, shocked.
“Maybe we should go closer,” Herod suggested. “If we stand in front of them, our wolves might be able to identify them better. They are very beautiful, gorgeous, and sexy. Their assets are truly impressive, man!"
I shook my head in warning. "Take a deep breath, Herod. Don't let your desires get the better of you. If our mates discover other she-wolves with us, we will have bigger problems to deal with.”
“Come on, let's check our order with them. We each take one”…
