“Really?!” Esmeralda’s grin was so wide Chas was amazed her face didn’t split in half.
“Shh! Not so loud!” Chas’s heart skipped as he thought he heard a floorboard creak outside the door. It was the middle of the day, so not many people would be wandering La Sirène’s second floor unless they were up to something. Chas just hoped they were up to something else.
