Chapter 2

Justin's anger surged, and he decided to confront Emma right away. He turned to his parents and said, "Mom, Dad, I have something to attend to. I'll be right back." Olivia knew Justin was going to Emma and grabbed his arm. "Justin, please, think this through. Your father and I have waited so long for you to be free. We can't risk losing you again." She continued, "You already tangled with the Darkvipers. They won't let this slide. Daniel's got the city government and the courts on his side. We're just ordinary people. We can't fight them. Here, take the money. It's all we have. Hide in another city." With that, she pressed her last few savings into his hand. "Mom, trust me. I'll come back safe!" Justin assured her as he made for the door. But Olivia grabbed Justin's leg, pleading, "Listen to me, please! Even if you go, Emma won't marry you. She's marrying Daniel today at the Grandview Hotel." "What? Emma's marrying Daniel?" The news hit Justin like a punch in the gut, intensifying the flame in his hand. He needed to get answers from Emma immediately. Once outside, Justin hailed a taxi to head to the Flores family home just as a blaring horn sounded from behind. Unable to stop in time, a Porsche was charging toward him. In a flash, Justin struck the hood with his hand, channeling a powerful energy that stopped the car. Although he took a couple of steps back from the impact, he remained unscathed. The onlookers were stunned. It was a collision that would have sent any normal person flying, yet Justin stood firm, safe and sound. As the last student of a mysterious elder and Meriland's youngest four-star general, Justin had long mastered extraordinary abilities, making his physical power surpass almost all humans on Earth. Stopping a moving vehicle was child's play to him. Standing before the Porsche, Justin prepared to confront the driver. Just then, a blonde woman in her twenties jumped out of the car. Justin thought the woman was going to apologize to him, but to his surprise, she stormed over to him and shouted, "Watch where you're going! Are you blind or something? Apologize to me right now!" "You almost hit me, so how dare you ask me to apologize to you?" Justin retorted, his anger rising again. Just then, an elderly man with silvery hair stepped out of a Rolls-Royce behind the Porsche, carrying a golden cane and radiating authority. Then, he called out, "Audrey! You were the one at fault! Show some respect!" Justin turned to the man instantly, recognizing him at once. It was Cillian Nolan, the president of the Violetgem Group and a respected philanthropist in Riverwood. Justin had received a scholarship from him during his medical studies. 'Can't believe she is his granddaughter,' Justin thought, calming his temper out of respect. Addressing the old man, he said, "Pardon me, Mr. Nolan, but if I'm correct, you don't have more than three hours to live." "What are you talking about?" Audrey shot back, her eyes wide with disbelief. She was furious. This man had jaywalked without apologizing to her and cursed her grandfather. "My grandpa just has the flu, nothing more. How dare you curse him? You're asking for trouble!" Audrey rolled up her sleeves, ready to confront Justin physically. But Cillian stopped her and asked, "Young man, why did you curse me?" "I'm not cursing you. I'm warning you out of respect because of all the good you've done," Justin said calmly. Then, turning to Audrey, he noted, "I can tell from your bad complexion that your trouble's coming. There will be a car accident in less than ten minutes." With that, Justin turned and got into the taxi, heading toward the Flores family home. The driver looked at Justin as if he were a monster. After all, Justin had just stopped a Porsche single-handedly. "What a madman! If you hadn't stopped me, I would have beaten him up!" Audrey exclaimed angrily, shaking her fist as she watched the taxi drive away. But at that moment, Cillian suddenly felt short of breath. "I'm feeling a bit tight in my chest. We should go to the hospital!" "Be careful, Grandpa. I've got you!" Audrey helped Cillian into the Rolls Royce and then sped off in the Porsche. As soon as they reached an intersection, they heard a loud bang. A massive truck crashed abruptly and rolled over a few times, flattening a dozen or so cars. Finally, it landed heavily on the hood of the Porsche with a crash. In an instant, all the airbags in the Porsche exploded. The immense impact separated the front from the back of the vehicle, and the interior, along with the rear, was flung tens of feet away due to inertia. At that moment, Audrey slammed into the airbag. It was only after the car came to a stop that she lifted her head groggily, her face pale, her eyes filled with the terror of a narrow escape. She had barely been five inches away from being crushed by the truck. "Audrey! Audrey!" Cillian's voice came from the Rolls Royce following closely behind. Still shaken, Audrey climbed out of the car, shaking the dizziness from her head. "Grandpa, I'm okay, but that guy was right!" At this time, Cillian remembered what Justin had said, and his expression changed dramatically. 'Can this man foresee the future?' he wondered. Thinking of this, Cillian shouted, "Audrey, look for that young man. You must find him within three hours. If you can't, use the entire Violetgem Group's network!" "Got it!" Audrey responded. Spotting a Porsche showroom across the road, she purchased a Porsche Panamera for 300 thousand dollars and sped off to chase Justin. *** Justin got out of the taxi and stood outside the Flores family home. In front of him was a small villa with many flowers at the door, and on the lawn of the courtyard were many friends and relatives of the Flores family. Seeing this, Justin clenched his fists, his eyes slightly bloodshot. 'What my mother said is true! Emma, that b***h, betrayed me!' he thought. But just when Justin was about to rush inside to confront Emma, he heard Emma's laughter coming from the courtyard. "Thank you, my dear friends and family, for attending my bridal shower. I am grateful to have met all of you, and I have finally found my prince charming!" "These past years, every day with Daniel has been full of happiness. I no longer have to scrimp and save, living with a penniless man like Justin. I live a high-quality life that Justin could never provide!" Emma, dressed in a white wedding gown, stood arrogantly on the flower-filled stage as she humiliated Justin unabashedly and flaunted her impending life of luxury. Hearing these words, Justin could no longer hold back his anger. He burst into the courtyard with a roar, "Emma, you shameless b***h! How dare you look down on me!" He bellowed, "Five years ago, I risked everything for you and ended up in prison. Now, you betray me and marry a rapist. I was such a fool!"
