Chapter five

1187 Words
Talia’s POV After eating, I decided to go for the grand tour around the house.  It was the first time I had been able to walk freely around anywhere, with no worries, for a very long time. I walked through the hallway and smiled at the people I met on the way, still not knowing who they were. Patience I thought to myself. Ky promised to explain everything to me, but I haven’t seen him since Shane took me to get something to eat.  I suddenly found myself in front of a huge wooden door. I had just gotten here which meant that I didn't know how much I was allowed to do. However, my curiosity got the better of me, so I opened it only to be met by the biggest home library I had ever seen.  I had always been a bit of a book worm, nerdy I know. But books were my only escape from the cruel reality I called my life. Giant wooden bookshelves covered each and every wall from the floor and all the way up to the ceiling. There must be at least a thousand different books in here.  Still stunned I walked in and instantly found a book on the very first shelf, that I could bury myself in.  “This is amazing,” I mumbled to myself while flipping through the book.       Shane’s POV   After talking to Kyle, everything started to make sense. All we had to do now was wait for the right moment to see if our suspicion was right. We couldn’t do much other than that. And until then our true selves had to be kept under the radar. I walked into the kitchen only to find Mrs. K standing there alone.  “Where is Talia?” I asked watching her make a small jump.  “Oh, dear you scared me,” she scolded while putting a hand to her chest. “Talia left after eating,” she said.   “I think she wanted to look around the house,” she added when she saw the confusion on my face.  “Thank you,” was all I said before turning around and walking out to find her.  I tried my best to follow the small amount of scent she had. It took me a while to track her down to one of my favorite rooms in the house.  My mom’s home library.  My mother was a bit of a bookworm. Since my father retired and made me alpha, my mother used most of her time here.  I slowly opened the door only to find my mate with her head on the table. The table was covered in all kinds of books. Guess she likes to read I thought to myself while walking over to her.  She was sound asleep. Her tiny hand was resting on the book she must have been reading before falling asleep. I slowly lifted her head away so that I could put the book away before I took her in my arms. As I began carrying her to her new room I couldn't help but look at her. She looked so peaceful. It almost looked as if she hadn't been able to sleep for a while, which with her background didn't surprise me. I walked from the library and upstairs to the room right next to mine.  Officially her room was supposed to be down the hall, but after finding out that she was my mate, I needed her to be closer to me without being too close to freak her out. I walked in and slowly placed her on her bed, careful not to wake her up.  I for a minute just looked at her, before I grabbed a blanket to cover her small frame. I then turned around and left. It pained me not to be able to be with her, but until she knew about the truth, I couldn't. I wasn't even sure if she would accept me for who I was. That she would accept my pack. That was the scariest part. Not only for me but for Kyle as well.    Talia’s POV   I woke up in a room I hadn't seen before. I had heard stories about falling asleep on the couch as a kid and then you would magically wake up in your bed. This must be what it was supposed to feel like I thought to myself.  Wait…  I sat up when the realization hit me. This means, that someone in this house, found me passed out between a lot of books and carried me to bed. Oh god, what a good way to make a first impression…  I got out of the bed and noticed my bag on the chair. I grabbed my stuff and went to take a shower. The bathroom was more beautiful than my room.  The walls were white, and the floor was pitch black. Now there was something I had never had before I thought to myself while looking at the huge tub. And by huge, I mean huge.  As I lowered myself into the hot water, I felt every muscle in my body relax. I leaned back against the edge of the tub and took a deep breath as I let myself sink deeper into the water.  After a while, it was time to get dressed even though I could have stayed there forever.  While I was adjusting my shirt, Ky burst through the door.  “Hello sunshine,” he sang while smiling.  “Jesus Ky, can you be any louder in the morning,” I laughed.  “Now that you ask, yes, yes I can,” he sang even louder.  “Are you ready?” he asked while plopping down on my bed.  “Ready for what?” I asked while combing my hair.  “Shopping of cause,” he said as a matter of fact.  “Why do we need shopping? Did you finally realize how bad your taste of fashion is?” I smirked.  “Oooooh burn!” I could hear from the door.  Ryan was leaning against the door frame with Cole by his side. Ky just looked at me and pouted before flipping me off.  “No actually we are going shopping for you,” he stated.  “For me? Whose brilliant idea was that?” I asked with a frown.  “It was mine,” said a husky voice.  I already knew that Shane had entered the room. I didn't know why, but my body was reacting in a weird way whenever he was around.  “You are starting your new life here, leaving everything behind. That requires new stuff,” he said with a shrug.  “Now come on, we don’t have all day,” he added before leaving the room.  “Is he always like that?” I looked at the three boys still in my room.  “Yes, pretty much,” they all said in unison.  Well, this was going to be interesting.
