Talia’s POV
I had no idea what this mate thing was, but I’ve heard it from both Shane and my wolf.
“A mate is one’s other half. The person who completes you,” Shane said. “Let me explain it like this. A mate is your soulmate. It’s like your soul is broken in two. Like you have always been missing this other half of yourself. And until you meet this person there will be this emptiness within you. It can present itself in many ways. Sometimes you feel lonely without being alone and other times just feel empty.”
“Did you know I was your mate when I came here?” I asked.
“No, but I found out the second you looked me in the eyes.”
I remember how his expression changed when our eyes met the first time, I saw him.
