three a r t THAT UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING when you're being watched—no, I mean being stalked. I hate it. I've been sitting there on the library for half an hour and I could see that that man two tables away from me was always stealing furtive glances on my direction. He was so obvious because the book he's reading was clearly upside down, or maybe he just read that way. I don't know. And he's kinda familiar to me. I stood grabbing my book and walked to the secluded area of the library where a shelf of cult books about demons and angels and stuffs were there. I'd rather sit in the floor alone than the tables and it's a lot way more quiet there. I continue reading the medical novel I was reading when I heard a book being pulled from the other side of the shelf. I could feel that who ever was there, he was slowly pulling it as if he doesn't want to disturb or let anyone hear or know that he's pulling a book. Then I heard a loud thud, a sound of books were thrown to the floor. "s**t!" I heard someone cursed in a whisper and muttered something that I don't understand. I creased my forehead as I place the book on my lap, looking at the shelf hoping to see the other side. I raised my head and then the man who had that weird habit of reading appeared with a shy grin on his face. "Hey." He said and walked to me. "Sorry about the noise." Without my permission, he sat in the floor beside me making me frown at him. I just wished that he would disappear so I could read the book silently. "It's done already. You can't put the spilled milk back on the glass." I said and looked at my arm to check the time. I only have an hour vacant to read books there on the library and this man's waisting my precious time! "Do you mind if I wanted to read my book quietly and if possible, alon—" "I'm Scott." He said cutting me and I kinda feel pissed. I wanted to throw the book I'm holding but I resist that urge. "Okay." I said flipping my book open, hoping he can read the sign that I don't want to talk to him. "You're Arthur, right?" He said and rolled my eyes glaring to him. "Look, I'm sorry for disturbing you but I have some questions, if it's okay." He smiled hopefully at me. "I know what you're gonna ask me." I said and he arched a brow. I figured who that man was. I saw him once. "You're going to ask if how did I stole Einstein's brain from his cold grave and install it—since today's age, brain transplant isn't possible yet." I watched him open his mouth only to close it and chuckled. "Exactly!" He exclaimed, licking his bottom lip and blinked. "So you heard that, huh." Scott smiled, amused. "Absolutely." I rolled my eyes, adjusting my glasses and closed the book I was reading before I stood, patting the back of my pants for dusts. Scott also stood. "I know you're trying to avoid me. . . But I just wanted to know you." He said making me frown. "Know me? Ha!" I sarcastically said passing him and went to the circulation counter so I can borrow the book. Scott was following me like a tail. No one ever told me that kind of wanted to know me crap. "Yes." "I'm not interested and I don't have time for that." I strongly said and place the book on the counter as one of the assistants of the librarian entertained me. "Don't you want any friends?" Scott leaned his arm in the counter, facing me. I scanned him, he had a face—I mean, his facial features is not that bad. . . "No." I flatly said, shoving the book to the woman. "I would like to borrow this." I said and the woman just smiled flipping the book open to the last page to get the small paper there. "Liar." Scott said and I glared at him making him shut his mouth. Scott was still tailing me when I went outside the library. I stopped walking abruptly and spun around and he almost collided at me. I step backward creating a distance. "What's your deal?" I said, annoyed. He pressed his lips together as if he was hesitating. "Honestly, I wanted your help about one of my subjects." Scott scratched his nape. He seems like he's saying the truth. A lot of people were approaching me for help, especially math, and I always keep on refusing them because it's such a pain in the ass. I don't like teaching especially someone who doesn't understand immediately. "I sucked at math and I'm close in failing that subject." "Then?" He was surprised for a second but scratched that look instantly. "Don't you have a heart?" "It's not my business and I hate teaching people especially like you." I turned and continue walking to my subject. "What about me that you hate?" I didn't answered him and just continue walking. Annoying and stubborn s**t. I went inside my room and some of my classmates were already there and our instructor was writing something in the board. I proceed to my seat and was surprised to see Scott was still tailing me inside the room. My classmates were all looking at us including our instructor. I grabbed his wrist and dragged him outside the room. "What the hell's wrong with you?" I exclaimed in a whisper and it freaked me out when he suddenly stoop down, kneeled in front of me and he also wrapped his arms around my right leg! "Hey!" I wiggled my leg but he was heavy. "Please." He said. "I don't want to fail that subject." "It's not my problem that you're dumb!" Students were looking at us already and I couldn't believe he could pull something so embarrassing like this in public! "I won't let go if you won't say yes." "Then, where's my rights to refuse? I don't even know you!" I exclaimed. "Get up! They will misunderstood! They will think that I'm bullying you when you were the one bullying me!" I kicked him secretly. "Mr. Dane, is everything okay?" I heard our instructor said. I peeped inside the room and he was walking towards outside. "Yes, sir." I said before I glared back at Scott. "You better stand there!" I warned him but he shook his head. "No." He stubbornly said. I peeped inside the room and Mr. Iver was approaching. I growled when I looked back at Scott who was stubbornly clutching his arms on my legs. "Fine! I'll teach you! Now get the fvck up!" I said and to my relief, Scott stood automatically just when Mr. Iver went outside looking from me to Scott. "Is everything okay Mr. Dane?" Mr. Iver asked. "Students were looking at you. Were you fighting?" "No, of course not, Mr. Iver. We're fine." I said. "Yes, sir. Those passing students were looking at me." Scott said. "They can't help it. I'm just too handsome." He said confidently making me roll my eyes and Mr. Iver just creased his brows. This fvcking narcissist! ✘✘✘
