Life as a Royal was a lot more different than I had expected it to be.
The King and Queen hadn't demanded that I jump into the Royal duties that a lady of my age usually would have been doing. They had agreed to give me as much time to get properly acquainted with Royal formalities, as long as I made visible progress.
The palace on the other hand, had been exactly what I had expected it to be. Guards lined the walls in long halls and even freely roamed the castle, along with my own party of guards, who's only task was to ensure my safety. There had been whispers that they were the best in the army and I was starting to understand why. They were as dedicated to me as they were to breathing, having taken quite a few rather uncalled for risks to ensure that safety.
