"Why are you here?" Maria demanded as her red eyes flashed. "You don't belong in this part of the castle!"
Trying to control my raging heartbeat I took in a breath. "Wilson was giving me a lesson in his study." I tried to explain. "I was just heading back to the servants quarters."
"Lesson?" Maria repeated as if it was a dirty word. "You seduce my brother and now you're doing things behind his back with that old man?"
