Jax was taken aback by the strange rule that applied to the Mini Giants.
However, since he was already determined to provide around a hundred spaces for them in the first place, he decided to recruit approximately 25 of them.
This would be equivalent to having 100 soldiers since each Mini Giant took the space of at least four soldiers in the system calculations
He believed they would be a valuable addition to his forces.
Additionally, he recruited three hundred more Barbarian soldiers and a hundred Archers to guard his kingdom while he was away at the capital.
Satisfied with his choices, Jax opened his status tab to assess the remaining resources he had:
[Status Tab]
Name: Jax Freeman
King level: Tier 1 King
Land level: Town
Coins: 77,200
Spirit Coins: 53,600
Coupons: Tier 1 coupons x69
Although his coin reserves had taken a substantial dip, Jax was relieved to have enough funds to continue various projects around the kingdom.
Walking over to one of the Tier 3 camps that was undergoing upgrades, he observed the builders diligently carrying out their tasks.
He requested to speak with their leader, and after a short wait, the head builder appeared before him.
“I have 7,000 system coins for you, I want you to prioritize upgrading the two archer towers and the cannon once you have completed the camp-related work. I hope you can finish these tasks while I am away,”
Jax explained as he handed a sack filled with system coins to the lead builder.
Although curious about what the builders used the coins he always gave them for, as he had never seen them spending the system coins, but Jax still refrained from asking.
“Thank you, Your Majesty. We will do our very best. I promise you will be surprised by the outcome of all the finished projects,”
The lead builder expressed his gratitude, his teeth gleaming in the sunlight and his eyes shimmering with dollar signs.
Jax sighed, remembering that even his wife was obsessed with his money.
His life seemed to be filled with individuals who only cared about draining him of his wealth, except for his warriors.
Everyone else spawned from the system appeared to be primarily motivated by monetary gain they got from him.
The thought of the future, when he would have another builder, brought on a wave of anxiety and a pounding headache to him as he could only pray the new builder leader would not be as greedy as this one before him.
Finally, Jax completed all the preparations he had planned and boarded the chariot that was prepared for him.
As he settled into his seat, he noticed a finely crafted sword, still sheathed and peacefully resting on one side of the chair.
He gently lifted the sword from its scabbard and gazed at its exquisite design.
“You are truly beautiful, your light shines like stars, and I shall name you Universe,” Jax whispered, captivated by the enchanting glow that pierced his eyes, reminiscent of a distant star.
Jax bestowed a name upon the sword in an instant, he held on to the weapon crafted beautifully.
He had approached one of the builders who was responsible for melting iron and forging weapons, seeking his assistance in crafting a Personal sword for him.
While the Head builder had seen this as an opportunity to extract more money from Jax, the chosen builder had eagerly agreed to create a sword for the king, provided the necessary materials were supplied.
Having accumulated over a thousand swords from the orcs, which his wife had yet to trade for money or crop seeds with the neighbouring kingdom, Jax had decided to use them to equip his army.
However, he discovered that these swords, not crafted by the system, were unusable.
Consequently, he relinquished all the swords to the builder, along with some bones from the recently hunted demonic beasts, allowing the builder to select which of them could be melted and used to recreate the most suitable sword for him.
While Jax knew the builder wouldn’t be able to use all of the thousand swords as materials, he trusted the builder’s expertise in choosing the best ones to use in creating his new sword.
And the builder surpassed his expectations, adorning the sword’s body with exquisite gems that made Jax feel undeserving of such a magnificent weapon.
[Ding! System has acknowledged you giving the sword a name, It is now a named sword and can develop its own consciousness when nurtured by your Qi for a period of time.]
[Ding! System has detected a sword that meets the requirements to be part of your king armament.]
[Do you want to merge the sword ‘Universe’ into your king armament? (Y/N)]
Jax’s mouth dropped open as he stared at the notification on his system screen.
He never expected that simply naming a sword would lead to such profound opportunities.
The system’s reaction took Jax by surprise, but he believed it was ultimately for the best. Being the king of a Tier 2 kingdom and possessing a Tier 2 warrior strength with excess Qi due to the system’s link with his kingdom, Jax knew that filling up more king armament would grant him more power that could even rival a peak Tier 2 warrior, while just breaking through recently.
With this strength at his disposal, he even dared to imagine himself capable of stalling or fighting Tier 3 warriors, just like his heroes.
The thought of being hailed as a genius filled him with excitement.
Jax’s smile widened as he pressed the Y button on the screen, watching as a gust of wind swirled inside the carriage, carrying specks of light that descended upon the sword.
To his shock, the sword vanished as soon as it was touched by the light.
“What?!”
Jax exclaimed, his eyes widening as a streak of light rushed towards his chest.
He couldn’t comprehend why the sword merging process was different from when he merged with the crown.
The crown had simply displayed a countdown when he had analysed it, eventually revealing its stats and its ability to enhance his appearance when the countdown completed.
But now, facing the incoming stream of light, Jax desperately tried to understand whether the sword’s reaction was due to it being forged by someone from the system or because he had given it a name, turning it into a named sword.
