"The second basic attack is the straight up." He slashed his sword going up. It made a vertical s***h then cut the body of the tree earlier, this time it is vertically. Master Fujin was about 10 yards away from the tree, but his spiritual power seemed to extend his sword.
"Poor tree," Maple whispered.
Czarina remembered she is an Earth element controller, she could probably hear the tree's cry.
"You can also do the same once you incorporate your spiritual powers to your weapons, but that is possible once you have broken through to the lord level," Master Fujin explained.
Czarina's forehead wrinkled. "How come I could incorporate my fire spiritual power to that sword grip?" She just shook her head and focused on the second basic attack.
They were given enough time to practice the two attacks simultaneously. She saw Maple struggling with her moves, she even hit herself several times with her own sword.
"I'm giving up," she said. "I can't use this sword."
"You can do it," Czarina said. "You just need to practice it slowly. Move the sword slowly to the direction upward. Do it repeatedly until your body memorizes it."
Maple did what she said. She slowly swung her sword upward. She was not content, she repeated it. She did it multiple times until her moves became stable and consistent. "I think I can also do it! Thank you, Czarina!"
"You're welcome," she replied back. Her focus went to Jed, the straw hat boy. He is also good at sword fighting, even better than her. He has a light complexion, even lighter than her skin. It seems sunlight never shone him his whole life. His brown eyes are emotionless even while swinging his sword. His nose is pointed and his lips are thin. She just realized now he is good looking. His oval-shaped face matches his facial features. She was watching him intently until he looked at her.
She immediately averted her gaze and focused on her sword. "I am practicing... I am practicing," she kept on saying it to herself repeatedly.
"Okay, our third basic attack is diagonally down to the right. Your sword is coming from the upper left part of your body. If you are right handed, it will be a backslash from upper left down to the lower right. If you are a left- handed person, it's a s***h from your left towards your lower right. This move can be followed with the fourth basic attack, from your right, diagonally s***h down to your left side." He made a quick crisscross attack using the diagonal downward motion. The tree almost left with nothing.
The students clapped their hands in amazement. "Master, is there also a level up in swordsman skills?" Blade asked.
"Yes, we have the entry level, apprentice level, advanced level, expert level, the master level and the legend," he replied.
"You're at a master level?" Blade asked again, surprised because his instructor is a master in swords skills.
He nodded then smiled. "You can start practicing alone or with your classmates. Pair up with someone if you need help and teach each other. I will walk around and see who has the potential to become a great swordsman." He started observing the students on the first line. "Hmm, this kid has perfect posture. He is seriously practicing alone," Master Fujin said to himself, referring to Jed.
"Valk, right?" he asked one of the siblings. "Don't hold the sword too firm, it will be difficult for you to take offense."
"Yes, Master Fujin," he replied. He faced Sirie again, his sister. "I'm ready."
"Here I am, brother," Sirie warned. She launched an attack to her brother, and slashed diagonally down to the right. Valk was able to dodge that attack, he stepped backward and turned around, then he did a side s***h to his sister's stomach. It wasn't strong but she fell over.
"We're not there yet, brother! You're too advanced!" Sirie got up and aimed her sword to her brother.
Master Fujin was amazed. He has several students with full potential in sword skills. He looked at Kev and Czarina, he found two more gems in his class. Kev is teaching Yin, while Czarina is helping Maple.
"This year is interesting," he said while smirking. "I will have my own disciples soon."
The students were entertained in sword fighting, and they almost forgot the class was finished.
"Okay, everyone, we will continue our lesson tomorrow. You can have your lunch now. You need energy for your next class." Master Fujin left them.
"What's our next class after our lunch break?" Yin asked.
"It's combat skills training. Fighting using our arms, legs and entire body. Are you ready?" Czarina jokingly said.
"I am," Yin said, but he is anxious. "I won't lose to you again."
"Right, what's our score again?" she asked while her hands were on her waist.
"F-fifty four over five," Yin replied.
"Who has fifty four?" She grinned.
"Whatever, I will win if we will have sparring." Yin raised his closed fist in the air.
"You two spar back home?" Kev shockingly asked them. "And you always lose to her?"
"It was just arm wrestling. I can't hurt my friend," Czarina said. "How can he beat me in sparring if he can't beat me in arm wrestling? But we do practice martial arts together back home."
"Excuse me," a voice of a girl said from behind them. It was Maple.
"C-can I join you over lunch? I'm alone."
"Sure, the more the merrier," Kev said. He looks happy about the idea of having lunch with Maple.
"Thank you." She smiled sweetly. "My hand hurts." She raised her hands and showed wounds from gripping the wooden sword.
"Let's take you to the infirmary first to heal your hands, then we'll go straight to the dining hall." Kev fixed his vest and walked beside Maple.
"I can smell love in the air," Yin said. "The prince is in love."
Czarina covered her friend's mouth. "Shut up! He might hear you and chop your head right here. He is still the prince."
