The next day, Heather woke up made sure she was all packed up. Sandy had gave her, her back up card that she been saving for her daughter til the time was right. As Sandy drove her daughter to the airport, she held her hand and felt sorry for her. She wish she knew what she was going through but she don't really. Other than the break up.
When they got to the airport, Sandy had paid for her ticket to Seattle, Washington and a bus ride to Forks, where her father would meet up with her there.
As she was about to aboard her plane, she hugged her mother so tight that it hurt her mother but her mother didn't care.
"Just be safe. I don't want to lose you. I don't want to get a phone call from your father saying that you've been shot or something killed you." Her mother told her.
"Yes, mother. I'll try."
As she gave her mother one last hug, flight attendant had called over the intercoms.
"Now boarding flight 246 to Seattle, Washington."
"Well that's me." Heather had said.
Sandy gave her daughter a kiss on the cheek and watched her aboard the plane. Her mother stayed there and watched the plane take off.
9 1/2 hours on plane from Mystic Falls, Virginia to Seattle, Washington and a 4 hour car ride from Seattle, Washington to LA Push, Washington in car with her father.
When she had landed in Seattle, her father was waiting for her to show up. He was excited to see her after what just happened last night. He wasn't expecting her to turn since she's half white/human. Her mother, Sandy was human and well her father, Ira was a shape shifter, werewolf. Much bigger than any other wolf or animal to man kind. Even the ones the they have in Mystic Falls, that no one has seen or heard of just yet.
Once Ira saw his daughter, she ran up to him jumping into his arms and hugging him for dear life. Even though she's 17 years old, her parents were young when they got married and had her. Sandy is only 34 and Ira is only 35. Yes, that would make them be 17 and 18 years old when they had her.
"There's my baby, Loca." Her father says.
"I'm not crazy. But I feel like it after what happened to me." She tells him.
"Honey, I'm not calling you crazy. Yes, I know that's what it means in Latin but did you forget Native American language. Its a name we call girls." He told her.
"Well damn, I did forget that."
"Let's get you home, I know your tired."
Try walked out of the airport with her stuff and headed to the car. Well truck. It was raining a little bit, which Heather didn't mind. She loved the rain, it helped her sleep. Just like it did when she was a baby, she slept right through a hurricane that was happening, even though it was a cat 1, they had stayed. The native Americans love it when it rains or storms its more fun for them to jump off cliffs.
As they took their long as drive home, she had fallen asleep against the door. When they arrived, a few of the boys that were in the tribe came running up to the truck.
"Hey Ira, I was wondering where you were." One of the boys said.
"Jared, I had to go pick up my daughter from the airport today." Ira told him.
"Wait Heather's back?" Another boy asked.
"Yes, Paul she's back and Ima need y'all help. Where's Sam?"
"He's over at Billy's place. Talking with Jacob, he um, turned last night." Embry had said quietly.
Ira looked at him like are you serious. Then turned back to the truck. He opened the truck door and held a hand on Heather so she wouldn't fall over. He picked her up and carried her into the house up to her room. One of the boy's, Paul had grabbed her bags and brought them in. When Ira laid her down on the bed, he quietly walked out with Paul behind him. They let her sleep.
As Ira and Paul went back outside the house, they walked over to Billy's place which was only a few miles away. Well more like they ran over there.
When they got there, Ira knocked on the door. Billy opened up the door and let him in.
"Morning, Ira. Your up early." Billy told him.
"Well I had to pick up Heather." Ira told him.
That's when Sam and Jacob came walking out of the bedroom. They walked into the living room and saw Ira.
"Ira," Jacob said.
"Hey, I heard your one of us now. Congrats. That makes two of you in one night." He had said.
"What do you mean, Ira." Sam had said.
"Heather, she turned last night. Sandy was scared, she didn't know what to do. I told her to lock her in the basement and let me talk to her. I done the best I could. She's in her room, right now asleep. So maybe later you guys can come over tonight." Ira said.
"Yea, sure." Sam said.
"Wow, I can't believe Heather is one of us. Quil thought she wouldn't since she's half white." Billy had said.
"Makes the two of us. Every time Sandy and Heather got into it, I would ask her if she was having "mono" she said no. Until last night, she yelled at her boyfriend and Sandy said it was ugly. " Ira said walking outside, with the boys behind them.
As Ira walked outside, he felt a weird since something was going to be happening soon. And he wasn't the only one. Sam put his hand on Ira's shoulder as they walked.
"Ira, I know you feel it." Billy says.
"Yes, I do. That means one of them are back." Ira said.
"I don't get how with Heather. She was over 2000 miles away." Billy had said.
"Unless one was close by there." Sam said.
"No, she's almost 18 years old. Billy, if you remember right Quil said by the age of 18, those who have the gene shift. Maybe that's it." Ira said.
"Maybe." Billy said.
Billy stopped wheeling his wheelchair and back inside his house. Sam and Jacob followed Ira to the house where, Jared, Paul, and Embry were still at. We all went and sat on the porch and talked. Ira told the others that Heather had changed too. Paul was shocked. He's always messed with Heather when she was younger, but never bullied her like some of the other kids around here.
As Heather was sleeping, she started dreaming of things that had happened back home. Like memories that she don't remember happening but did. Vicki had bit her and Stefan had feed her blood. It had healed her somehow.
She rose up from her sleep and got up. She looked around where she was. She was in her room at her father's. She grabbed her phone and had called Elena. She had promised her she would call.
"Hey, I see your in. How was the flight?"
"Long. I actually just woke up. I had fallen asleep in my fathers truck."
"Oh, well at least you got some sleep."
"Yea. Since I have you on the phone, I have some questions. I remember Vicki biting me and Stefan feeding me his blood. What are they?" Heather had asked.
"Heather, are you sure you wasn't dreaming."
"Elena, quit playing. I know what I remember."
"Fine, she was a vampire."
"Was is she dead."
"Now she is. Stefan staked her when she attack you. And Stefan, his brother Damon are vampires too but the good kind. Stefan saved your life and thought if he compelled you to forget you would. How do you remember?" Elena asked.
Heather started laughing a little. "Funny story. I'm a wolf. A shape shifter more likely. So I'm guessing me shifting gave me back what Stefan compelled me to forget. I guess what I heard you, Jeremy, and Ric talked about is true. I thought I was losing my mind." The poor girl had told her girl best friend.
"No, you wasn't."
"Wait, I remember something else. A girl looked just like you. She compelled me as well asking me a lot of questions."
"That would have been Katherine. My doppelganger, what Stefan and Damon call it. She's also their ex girlfriend as well."
"Well damn. Well Ima get off here and take a shower and unpack my stuff." Heather had told her.
"M'kay. Later." Elena said then they hung up.
As Heather got off the phone, she went through her stuff and put them in her dressers and her closet. After she was done, she had jumped into the shower. She wasn't in long, but long enough for her muscles to relax. As she got out, she wrapped a towel around her body and walked back into her room. As she walked out of the bathroom, she heard noises coming from outside. It was the boys from the tribe, she haven't seen them in years. But she didn't know if it was the ones that bullied her for being half white.
As she put on her under wear, she put on shorts and a tank top and brushed her hair then shook it around a little since it was short now. As she was done, she was hungry a little so she went into the kitchen and found an apple then walked outside.
When she walked out the door, all the boys looked at her. Even her own father. The one boy, Paul stared at her and she stared back. She even forgot she had an apple in her mouth for moment. What was happening, she thought. She couldn't take her eyes off of him nor could he. It was my father that had broke the silence.
"Heather, dear. These are a few of the tribe boys. This is Sam, he's the oldest. Then Jared and Paul, who you were staring at. Then Embry and Jacob. Your remember Jacob don't you? They are the closest neighbors a few mile down." Her father told her.
"Yea, Jake and Billy right. And I remember Paul too. He always use to pick on me." She had said.
"Yea, well sorry." Paul said then got up and walked off the porch.
Heather watched him as he left. He ran into the woods. God what an ass, she thought. But he sure is cute.
"Anyways, Sam is the one I told you about. That could help you." The man had said.
"So your a um," she couldn't say it.
"A wolf, yes. We all are. Even Paul there too. Matter of fact he just shifted into his wolf to go on a run." The oldest boy had said.
"Oh," she had said.
"Sam's the alpha in charge here. Since y'all are the only wolfs left out of our tribe. He was the first to become a wolf since Jacob's great grandfather, elder Ephraim Black had died. Well other than myself and a few others but still." The man had said. "So what he says go, Heather even if you don't like it."
Heather nodded at her father. Then looked the way where the young boy had gone.
The rest of the week, Sam had been helping Heather with her shifting. It was hard at first but after awhile it got easier. They could read each other's minds. And it was quite funny. Because Sam now knows how she feels about Paul. And its kinda awkward. One night all of them were running and Heather found out about Paul liking her since they were kids and now since she's back they had imprinted on each other.
When she heard what he was thinking, she shifted back into human form and ran home. She didn't know of the knowledge of imprinting or any of the tribes stuff. When she got home naked, her father looked at her for a second the looked away when she stopped in front of him.
"What is imprinting?" She had asked as she grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around herself.
"Why, what's wrong?" He had asked her.
Then Sam and Paul came running in the room. Paul looked at her and so did she. Then Ira got why she had asked.
"Honey, imprinting is. Imprinting is the involuntary mechanism by which Quileute shape-shifters find their soul-mates. It is a profound, intimate phenomenon that exists among the Quileute shape-shifters." The man had told her.
"When a shape-shifter imprints on a specific person, he becomes unconditionally bound to her for the rest of his life. When it happens, the experience is described as being gravitationally pulled toward that person while a glowing heat fills him; the connections of everything else become severed, or simply secondary, and only the imprintee is left to matter, leaving the shape-shifter with a deep need to do anything to please and protect the person. Imprinting occurs only after a wolf's first phasing. It can happen with anyone, regardless of previous personal feelings. It happens the first time he sees the human object of his imprinting; if the shape-shifter does not react to a human subject the first time he sees them after he phases, that means he will never imprint on that human. Imprinting can't be forced on anyone, no matter how much the shape-shifter may want it." Sam explained to Heather.
Heather was still confused. She never felt anything for him and now she does.
"It's not like love at first sight, really. It's more like… gravity moves… suddenly. It's not the earth holding you here anymore, she does… You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that's a protector, or a lover, or a friend." Paul had said. "When we were kids, I always did like you. But you moved away. And when your father had said you were back, I was afraid that what I had then would never be there until I saw you. Those feeling came back and I know this is all weird and new to you. None of us get it. And matter of fact, I think this is the first time two wolfs imprinted on each other."
"I am half human though." She had said.
"True." Ira had said. "Just be carefully you guys. Paul you have a bad attitude, and well so does Heather. But she's been through a lot."
"Ira, I would never."
"Its not that. I know both of you." The man told them.
After a while, Sam had left Paul and Heather alone to talk about what just happened. They went on a walk on the old dirt road. As they were walking, they talk about when they were younger.
"So since I was a kid huh?" She had said.
"More or less." He had said.
"Well damn, I guess you weren't the only one." She had told him.
"Huh?" He asked confused.
She stopped walking and faced him. She stared into his eyes and something in her just melted. She looked down as she grabbed his hand. As she was looking down she rubbed his the back of his hands with her thumb. She never felt like this before not even with Jeremy. Even when she had s*x with him, she felt nothing. Paul had took his hands back making him drop hers to her side as he placed his hands on her face and leaned in and kissed her. She was shocked but glad he did it instead of her. She was afraid to do it. But it only last a few minutes, only because someone came running over to them and interrupted them.
"Hey guys Sam wants to head over to Jakes and go for a run together." Jared had said. "Oh sorry. Y'all were having a moment."
Paul looked at him. "Yes. Yes, we were, now thanks." He said with a little growl.
"Hey, he didn't know. Just be nice. Please." Heather had said as she grabbed his hand.
Paul looked back at her and nodded. She smiled then looked at Jared.
"Race y'all to Jakes." She had said then took off laughing.
"Hey, no fair!" Jared had yelled out.
As she was running with the boys behind her. She caught sight of Sam and Embry at the other end of the road. Then they joined them. As they were running, it started to rain, but they ran into the woods to take a short cut to Jake's house, so they wouldn't get too wet, but they all stopped in Jake's back yard as she saw a red truck pulling in.
When they stopped, she saw a girl getting out of the truck and yelled for Jake while he was walking over to us. Jake stopped walking and turned around and looked at her.
"Who's that?" She had asked.
"That would be Bella." Embry had said. "She's Jake's friend or at least was."
"Does she know about him?" She had asked.
"Nope, she shouldn't. It's against the law for an outsider to know about us." Sam had said.
"Well whatever is saying doesn't look to good." Heather had said.
"Nope, kinda don't care." Sam said then yelled out. "Jake, let's go!"
Jake turned and looked at us for a second then looked back at her. Whatever he had said to her, she had went back to her truck and drove off. He ran over to us with a sad look on his face.
As he walked into the woods, we all followed then shifted. We ran north around the area, smelling a weird smell. Heather whinned a little.
"That would be vampire, your smelling." Sam had said.
"God they sink. I didn't know they smelled like this. At least the one's I'm friends with back home didn't." She says.
"Wait, what?" They all asked.
"Yea, I only know two and you can kill them with a stake." She told them.
"No you can't. You have to tear them apart and burn them." Sam had said.
"Since when?"
"Since the time of day when Jake's great grandfather found them." Paul had said.
"And these sparkle in the sun, some don't show themselves in the sun but some do." Jared said.
"Well the ones I knew, could walk in the sun and not do that. Maybe there's different kinds of vampires." The young girl had said.
The whole run confused the girl and the boys but they didn't say anything. All Heather could bring up in her head was a nice hot shower because she was starting to smell like a wet dog. Paul had laughed when he got to her. He nudged his head against her making her laugh as well. She pushed him away from her and pushed herself faster making him follow behind.
Hours of running, it felt forever. As they started to slow down, she had a bad feeling something was happening. As she had stopped making Paul stop as well, he stared into her eyes. She wasn't liking this.
"Heather, love what's wrong?" Paul had asked.
"I'm not liking this. I have a bad feeling." The girl had said.
No one was around the two love birds until Sam had ran over to them. He saw that Heather was sitting down with her head hung low. Paul was standing above her, staring at her.
"Heather? You good?" Sam had asked.
Heather raised her head and looked at him. She shook her big head at him.
"She's having a bad feeling something is about to happened." Paul told their alpha.
"It all started back a few yards back when the smell was the strongest." She had said.
"Let's go take a look. Guys come to us." Sam had ordered.
It didn't take long for rest of the wolves to get to them. Once they did, Heather had showed them where she felt off. As they got closer to the smell, they had heard some talking. With Heather's good eye sight, she saw who it was. It was the same girl they had ran into from early this morning. Jake's friend, Bella. There was a dark hair man in front of her looking like he was about to slap her. So Sam and them had stepped forward, making the creature dead stop in his tracks and taking off. Sam was the first to take off then Jared then Paul. Jake had walked up and stared at the girl for a moment until Heather had saw Sam flying back to where they came out of the tree lines, so Heather had took off with Jacob behind her. Heather caught up to the vampire getting a hold of him, putting her huge mouth around his neck and swinging him around to break his head off. Once the creatures head came off she spit out his head a few yards away. Paul walked up to her and leaned into her. He was worried about her since that was her first killing. But she didn't think of it to much. She was ready to go home.
As they head back home, Jake went his own way and so did the others, other than Paul. She had went home with Heather. He didn't like how she was feeling, but understood where she was coming from. Her father had brought it up once before and Paul knew some of it when they were kids.
When the two teens walked into Heather's house, they had saw her father and a few others. She went to the kitchen to grab some water to calm her down.
Ira looked at the boy after he moved his eyes back from the kitchen.
"What's wrong with Heather?" Ira had asked the young boy.
Paul had looked into the kitchen as he leaned against the wall. "She killed her very first vampire and now she's been a little off."
"What?" A man had said.
"Harry, don't." Ira had said as he put his hand up to him. "She knew what she was getting into."
"That's the problem, she knew a couple vamps where she lived. She said they were nice and that they walk in the sun and don't sparkle like the Cullen's or the one she took down." The young boy said.
"So what your saying there could be different kinds of these creatures?" An old man had said.
"That's what Heather thinks, elder Quil."
As they were talking, Heather had came walking through. She put a hand on Paul's shoulder and kissed his cheek.
"Loca, this is a very dear friend of mine and Billy's, Harry Clearwater. And this is elder Quil. The oldest of the elders now." Ira told her.
"Nice to meet y'all." The girl had said.
"You as well," the elder had said as he got up.
The elder had walked over to the girl and pulled one of her hands and looked at it. She had looked at him for a moment then to her father then to Paul.
"Great young child, you have the power of feeling things that are gonna happened when others don't. Remarkable." The elder had said.
Heather had smirked a little. "Thanks, I guess. It did help us find that vampire before it killed Jacob's friend." The girl had said.
"Bella?" Harry had said.
"Bella saw y'all." The girls father had said.
"Yes, she did. She ran as soon as Jacob and I left her side."
"I'm gonna go check in Charlie." Harry had said.
"Please do." Ira had said.
The elder Quil had walked away from the girl and walked back over to the couch.
"So am I gonna go back home to mom this weekend or no? Because I have school." The girl had asked.
"Um, no your staying here until furthermore. Matter of fact, I have signed you up for school here, in forks." The girls father had said.
"Wait forks? Why can't she go on the rev with Jacob and the others." Paul had asked.
"Because my child she's half white and half Indian. The others wouldn't approve of her like she was as a child. And now that she is one of our great warriors, they might make her mad and she would shift." The elder had said.
"No, it's fine. As long as I'm in school. I just want to finish and graduate, that's all." The young girl had said.
"If your that worried about her, you can take her back and forth to school Paul since she's your imprint/girlfriend." The father had said.
The teens both shook their heads at him then went upstairs to her room. Paul had sat on the bed as she got her shower stuff and went and took a shower. She wasn't in long for Paul's sakes. She smiled at that for a second. As she wrapped the towel around her, she walked back into the room and saw Paul looking at one of her books. He looked up at her when she came in and looked away fast starting to blush.
"Do you want me to leave?" He had asked.
"No, your fine. I mean you've kinda saw me naked already." She had said as she went to her dresser.
"Yea, I know. But still."
"But nothing. Your fine. Matter if fact, I need your help. Can you rub this on my back for me." She had asked him as she threw her lotion at him.
She dropped her towel to slid on her underwear then walked over to Paul. He tried not to look at her but it was kinda hard not to. She sat on the edge of her bed, put her hands on her legs and waited for him to do her back.
As Paul put some lotion on her back, he started rubbing it all in. He felt a little weird doing it, but she was his girlfriend after all. Its just that her father being downstairs and all. Once he was done, he handed her the bottle back and she got up to put it back.
"Thank you, that wasn't so hard was it." She had said smiling at him.
"No, its just your,"
"My father will be fine. He knows we're together so. Plus were both grown." She said as she slid on her legging. "We ain't doing anything wrong here. It ain't like," she was saying as she walked back over to him an leaned into him. "Were having s*x just yet." She says as she's right in his face.
"Your making it hard not to." Paul says as he stares at her breast for a moment then looked away.
"Is Paul the almighty warrior still a virgin?" She had asked.
"No," he said as she looks back at her. "Don't get me on my bad side, you know what it can do."
"Oh, do I." She says as she climbs on his lap and wraps her arms around his neck, making him wrap his arms around her waist. "And what would Mr bad ass would do about that?" Heather said teasing a little.
"Heather," he moaned a little.
Heather leaned into his neck and started kissing him. Middle of a kiss she had answered him. "Yes," once he didn't answer her, she had went back to what she was doing.
After a while he had enough of it an picked her up and laid her on the bed and got on top of her. He growled a little before he went at her neck to start kissing her. They were at the whole making out part for it seemed forever but it was only a few minutes.
Paul had to stop himself because he was making himself to excited and he didn't want to do anything just yet to the girl. Hell he thought about it but they also just kinda got together a while back. As he stopped he had got up and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Babe, I can't." Paul had said.
"I know. Just give it time." Heather told him.
She got up from the bed and kissed him on the lips before walking over to her dresser to get a T-shirt. Once she put it on, she had went back to the bed and laid down pulling him with her. As he laid in his back, she had laid partly on his chest and started to fad asleep.
She never felt so comfortable with anyone in her arms in her bed. Not even with Jeremy, to be honest. And being honest with herself, she thinks she was just using him, to get high, do drugs, drink and of course lose her v-card. But maybe she was just thinking that because she's with Paul or maybe its the imprint making her think bad things of who she was with last.
Who will ever know.
