“AREN’T YOU GOING to tell General Tristan?”
Edward and Suarez were back in the truck after making sure that John Simmons was unharmed inside his own residence. The lead detective already told Under-Sheriff Collins to have some of his men watch over John. With that out of the way, they all felt assured that no one’s going to harm the man. Because in the back of Edward’s mind, he feels like it’s his fault if something dangerous ever happens to John.
The lead detective glanced at the person seated on the shotgun seat, then casted his eyes back on the road. “You already know my answer to that, Suarez. You know me like the back of your palm.”
