We settled in the living room, the familiar comfort of family wrapping around us like a warm blanket. Jasmine, always adventurous, shared stories of her time away, carefully avoiding the darker details.
The children, always eager for a new tale, listened with rapt attention, their eyes wide with wonder.
"Amara, it's great to see you for the first time," Jasmine said to Amara, the shy one.
"T-Thank you, Auntie," Amara said hesitantly, her voice barely above a whisper. I smiled at this interaction, recognizing the nerves behind Amara's response.
