It was a surprise to see Amara and Lily in town today. I've always been confident, but something about Amara makes it hard to stay calm.
Maybe it was because I told her about Natalie and opened up in a way I don't usually do. But what struck me most today was Amara's kindness.
She got along so well with my sisters, Aurora and Avalon, who have always been wary of strangers. Considering how afraid they used to be of Natalie, their immediate acceptance of Amara said a lot. They may be better judges of character than I am.
