Chapter 7 Logan wished Blaze could’ve stayed longer in DC, but he enjoyed the extra days with his family. It was rare for all of them to be together, and even Robert loosened up to be more like the father Logan had known before alcohol ruled the man’s life. Logan hoped his dad’s reserve with Blaze had been more about his embarrassment that he was a recovering alcoholic and less about his son’s relationship to Blaze. Too, he sensed his father’s struggle with being Native in a white world, one which Logan knew well. The conflict may have driven Robert to turn to drink for the temporary solace it offered.
