I had a pleasant walk to work the next morning. Spring had definitely sprung. The tubs of flowers, which the Council had put out in the high street, were coming into bloom. The plants Mark had bought for our garden were also doing well. He spent ages tending to them, and they were responding to his ministrations. The lawn was also looking much healthier than I’d ever seen it. I entered the library, signed in and chatted with a few members of staff.
