The journals ended there. There were no further entries after that. There were also no more scrolls from after the death of his mother. It was only noted that he must have succumbed to the attack of the vampires and his body could never be found. It was decreed that the castle should never be entered as a sign of respect for the royals and their untimely death. People saw the windows go dark after a while, thinking maybe some unruly children, or even witches who didn’t respect honour, moved into the castle. Either way, the town grew, and eventually the castle was no longer something that drew attention of any kind. We were still at square one. Except for finding out that Julius was the monster, we all knew he was.
“Councillor, you spoke about my brother. Is Julius my brother?” I ask
