Hunter Amy
When Amy was young and met Crescent Falls pack: The fog laid heavily over the green plains, the brush was tall and only the upper bodies of the people were visible. It was dark and very little light illuminated the scene as the sun had just set. It was not dusk, it was a bit darker than that, so it was hard to see how the people moved around in the area. From some trees hid a few people scouting over from their elevated position. The brush swayed more violently than it should by the number of people running through it. Other things were moving in the brush as well, something shorter than a human. It moved the grass in patterns as the creatures narrowed in on one of the humans standing still, he had a large rifle and was aiming at the brush. He took a shot and the whelp of a wolf broke the silence, one of the other people running stopped abruptly and turned to look at the young man shooting. She winced as she heard the wolf whimper in pain. Then the sound stopped, and the eerie silence fell over the scene once again. The young girl turned again and scouted for movement in the tall grass. She saw some wolves run to safety, but one moved swiftly to the side to get away from the shooter. It was a strategic move as the wolf would be flanking the man and could attack him. This was her chance, she could run to intervene, for the people up in the trees observing it would look as if she wanted to save the young man. But she had much more sinister motives, she bolted to high speed and intervened the wolf in his path. She skidded to the ground so she laid right in front of the wolf as he emerged, the wolf was surprised by her action and he halted in front of her. They both looked at each other with a curious look, neither had the chance to look at the opponent.  The young girl slid her hand to her thigh and produced a large silver hunting knife, then she tossed it to the side. The wolf peered at her confused as to why she would throw away her only way of defending herself, she screamed out a blood-curdling scream that faded into silence. The wolf tilted his head and sniffed the air, she did indeed smell like a human. She was a hunter, no doubt, but why did she surrender so quickly? Then the wolf froze in place as he had seen a ghost when she leaned her head back to bare her neck. It was if she asked to be killed swiftly, something a hunter would never do. This was a suicide mission, she wanted to be ripped to pieces. The wolf was confused at her actions, as there was nothing she could lure him into. Then he noticed her facial expression as she bared her throat, she looked at peace, like she was content. It was then he realized she wanted to die, and she chose to die at the teeth of a wolf. The wolf trotted a few steps forward to get closer as he heard both the young man and the people in the trees yell for the young girl. They were worried, they sounded scared for her. The wolf sniffed her a bit and she finally lifted her head to look him in the eyes, she seemed fearless as she looked at him with gentle eyes. The wolf snapped his jaw over the fabric of her jacket and shirt and started to drag her with him, she resisted and fought the first minute but it was futile. The wolf was much stronger than her and he had no trouble getting her with him, from the trees he heard a woman scream out in pain as it looked like the wolf dragged a dead body with him. To them, it looked like the young girl was dead and being dragged away.  When he got her far enough away from the grassy area to a more dense forest he shifted and ordered her to walk, the young girl stood up and walked towards where he pointed. The hike back to his pack seemed forever as he was used to running the distance, she didn’t utter a word and he wondered why such a young girl would be a hunter. He wondered even more why she ran into his grip, almost like she wanted to die by him. The whole walk back to his pack his eyes would glaze over as other pack members' minds linked him. The alpha and beta were curious about how he got a prisoner, he told the story as he saw it. The young girl seemed to run into him on purpose to end her life, he felt sorry for her so he didn’t kill her, but instead captured her. And now he was bringing her to his pack so the alpha could decide her fate. He did not think it would be a good fate, as one of their pack members was killed that night.  As they approached the packhouse the alpha and beta stepped out to the front porch to meet them. The alpha looked her up and down, the young girl unfazed by his piercing gaze.  He had a tone of disdain as he spoke, “name, age, how many kills?”  The young girl responded quickly, but her voice shocked them all. She had the voice of a little girl, and it was bone-chilling to get confirmation of her young age.  “Amy, fourteen, I have killed three rogues and two vampires.”  The alpha narrowed his eyes, squinting like he was trying to figure her out, “why did you kill them?”  He was short with her, he wanted answers.  She answered back in the same unwavering and childish voice, “the rogues had k*led and r*ped humans, I did not feel sorry for them. The vampires tried to drink from me, I don’t like vampires.”  The alpha snorted, neither did they, only vampires liked vampires.  He stepped to the side and gestured for the little girl to walk inside, “let’s figure out why you tried to kill yourself tonight little hunter Amy.”  She gave a short nod and walked up the steps, not a single moment did she smile or make any facial expressions, it was like she was void of them all. The alpha and beta gave a short nod to the young man that brought her in and he walked away to his own home. The young girl stayed in the packhouse the whole night answering the alpha and beta’s questions. When the light finally peered up from the hills they let her go to get some sleep. The beta escorted her to a guest room and placed guards outside her room and window. It did not take long until the young girl fell asleep face down into the mattress with all her clothes on.
