We made it to beautiful safe house. Briggs and Jacob talked and he even called Riley to come by and keep us company. I was so furious at myself for that outburst. He was doing everything he could to bring our son home. I knew he blamed himself and I played on that. I was no better than Trisha. Briggs walked up to me, but I didn’t meet his eyes.
“Ari, I’m sorry. I had to do this. Zane needed to do this, you of all people should understand.” I did. More than he knew.
“I just want my son. After this, I’m going back to Barcelona, I thought this was home but this is where the problems were. I was safe there. My son was safe. Damn it, Briggs, we’ve been here for what two weeks barely and look what happened.” He sat next to me and out his arm around me.
