While the men looked at her and then found it just impossible to look away.
Lady Framfield moved forward quickly to say,
“Charles, I am so delighted you could come. I was rather afraid that you might have another engagement.”
The Viscount smiled.
“That is exactly what I do have and may I present my fiancée to you!”
“I am so delighted to meet her,” Lady Framfield said, “because I loved her mother and greatly admired her father.”
“It is very kind of you to have me,” Salvia said. “Charles has told me that your ball is the most prestigious one of the Season.”
“That is just what I like to think,” Lady Framfield replied. “Now let me introduce you to some of my friends who, of course, are longing to meet you and tell Charles how clever he is to find anyone so beautiful.”
