Stephanie Ramirez POV
I am Stephanie Ramirez, the only and the youngest daughter of my father Anthony Ramirez. I have one brother Shane Ramirez. My family is one of the Rich and Famous in Kazan City, so to speak I am the heiress of a billion-dollar Ramirez Empire here and abroad. But there is this Big issue about me, when I say big it means BiG! I am turning 42 in 2 months and it's a big issue for my family since I am not yet married. This makes my family pressure me to marry.
Imagine guys, when your family especially my father arrange random guys he met or her friends' son to a blind date for you? You know the feeling of pressure when your family and friends with this matter? It's irritating, frustrating and it's not funny. I will share with you a glimpse of what happened this afternoon.
I am busy with the documents to sign up when I heard a knock at the door.
"Come on in," I said.
The door opens and enters a 5"6 inches tall woman in a gray suit uniform. She is Tina Arevalo, my Secretary. She has a blue doe eye that I like that it seems smiling always. A long blond wavy hair that reaches her waistline that I envy for I got a dark brown straight hair.
"Oh, Tina. What's up?" I ask her still scanning at the document in my hand. I treat Tina as my friend aside from being my secretary. Why not? She works for me for more than 10 years now. She is reliable, intelligent, diligent, and funny when we are not in the office. She is very cool and professional at her work. I can share my secrets, too.
"Steph your father called me and he said he wants to see you in his office right now." She replies. Since we are close I never want her to call me ma'am.
"Right now?" I furrowed my eyebrows thinking what is this urgency.
"Yes, Steph," Tina says.
"Ok. Why?" I ask her again.
"I don't know, Steph but I have a guess." She said. I raise my eyebrow.
"And what is it?" I ask her curiously. She lean to me and whisper, "Your new date." She smiles at me sheepishly. I gape and I guess she is right or at least.
"Got it. Thank you." I said. Tina nod and turn around to back on her post. I stretch my body for I've been sitting for an hour then I stretch my dress. When finally there are no wrinkles on my dress I go to the door and go outside to my office.
I go to the elevator and press the number 43rd floor where my father's office resides while I've come from the 42nd floor of the AR building. AR Building stands for my father's name Anthony Ramirez. This is our main office and it's located in the busy Central of Kazan City.
When the elevator open I go immediately outside and to the direction of my father's office. In a distance, I saw Lina Mason, my father's executive secretary. I smile at Lani when I saw her and she return her smile to me.
"Good morning, Steph." She greets me when I am near her reception desk. She calls me in my nickname for she is close to my family and me, of course. Decades of being loyal to us, a professional at her work and like she is a second mother to me and my brother, shows to her wrinkled face. We want her to retire for we want her to enjoy her days with her family and grandchildren but this old aunt is stubborn as a bull. She wants to retire if my father retires to his position. She is also like my family's best friend. I love this old stubborn woman, dearly.
"Good morning, Aunt Lani. Is my father inside? He wants to talk to me?" I said to her.
"Yes, Steph. He is waiting for you inside. I will inform him of your presence." Lani answer.
"Oh, no. Not to worry about me. I don't want to disturb you, aunt on something important. I'm gonna go inside." I kiss her on her cheek and stop her to knock on my father's door.
"Ok, Steph. Go ahead." She agreed and look again at the document she is handling.
I knock on my Father's office twice when I heard his voice from inside.
"Come in." His baritone voice said.
I open the door and enter inside.
"Hi, Papa. Why did you call me?" I ask straight and sit on the chair in front of his desk without waiting for him to invite me to do so.
"Oh, yes. I have a piece of good news for you!" He excitedly announces.
"And what is that?" I ask curiously.
"You see, I meet this son of a friend of mine yesterday. And I think he is a good match for you." My father said to me like a teenager who's playing cupid and wink to me.
"Oh, gosh! Not again, papa." I roll my eyes.
"Oh, why not? You're not getting any younger and your old maid now." My father said to me.
"Papa, I'm not an old maid," I said irritably.
" Oh yes, my dear daughter. Who's not an old maid at the age of 41 and still single, huh? And two months from now you turning 42, right? So do you think you are still young?" He said. I squinted my eyes to him and sigh deeply.
"So! You arrange again a blind date to me, right?" I said to him in a way 'can't believe' look.
"Yes! Yes!" He happily replies like a kid. He slightly bounces because of excitement. His smile plaster on his face since I enter this room. Oh, gosh, what can I do to this old man. I thought. He still has the energy to arrange build dates for me when he was very busy handling our businesses here and abroad and still thinking about my dates! I think even he will retire soon, he will still be busy- not busy with his grandchildren but busy arranging a groom for me more if I'm still not yet finding one to marry, I bet. I sigh deeply. I think I'm gonna have a headache. I put my palm on my head as if it begins to ache.
