Chapter Two

The sudden heat hitting my face made me slowly open my eyes. What time is it? I adjusted my vision and found a familiar clock at the corner. Wait, I'm in my room! Where did I get in here? The last time I checked, I slept at the clinic.

"Good Morning, Knight Major" a lovely voice greeted me.

"Elaine..."

She's one of our playmates before. Now, she becomes one of the finest healers in this castle. She smiled at me and examined my body's state.

I tried to move but I can't even move my legs. What happened? I looked at her suspiciously.

"Stop moving, that's the result of being so stubborn!" she flicked my forehead and I just glared at her. I'm going to pinch her ears, once I recover from my injuries.

I want to say something but I cut myself off because of the sudden throbbing of my head again. Her face quickly changed and started to chant some healing spells. This headache is more painful than my other injuries, it's like something is being buried inside of it.

"What's happening to me?" I asked her weakly. It hurts...

"You must take care of your head, Eury. If you don't want to die early, avoid doing something that can injure it" she professionally said to me. She helped me to sit and rest my back on the bed.

"After five minutes, you can finally move your legs again"

"Really?!" I thought I'm going to be paralyzed or I will wait for a week or days just to move it freely again.

"But! There's a condition, Euryale Stheno!" I just glared at her, she speaks like an older one but we're in the same age.

"Listen to me!" I just rolled my eyes at her and started to close my eyes. I don't care about some restriction, I will do whatever I want.

"You are forbidden to do intense training or else, you'll be paralyzed for good"

"All right, but I can still train" I grinned at her and she just rolled her eyes at me.

"Sadly, you still can. But I already told Ares your condition" I suddenly threw a pillow at her, luckily, she avoided it.

Just hearing his name is making my blood reach its boiling point, he's the reason why I am here lying again in my bed, can't move my two legs and feeling like s**t because of some damn headache.

"Oh, chill! I didn't say anything!" She really has the guts to laugh, ha?!

"Shut up!" I shouted at her and threw some pillow again. I really want to kill that devil. One day, I will definitely kill him.

"Hmmm, you're so furious, do want to kill me?" she grinned like a crazy dog.

"I will kill both of you!"

"What's going on here?"

I looked at Elaine, warning her to be quiet. What is he doing here in my room? Didn't he know how to freaking knock?

No one's daring to break the silence, just by looking at him, I can feel my self being enraged by anger.

"Ah! I just finished checking her condition so I will leave now"

My eyes went bigger and she just put some devil smile on her face as a reply to my reaction. Elaine, I think you are the one who is going to die early.

"Goodbye, Eury. Don't forget my pieces of advice, see you around!" she joyfully said and winked in my direction.

I have the urge to throw my one last pillow at her but that blue-eyed devil is blocking her position so I will probably hit him instead of Elaine.

Another moment of silence filled my room, we're just staring at each other and it looks like no one wants to lose this petty staring contest.

"Stop staring at me," he said coldly to me and started to pick the pillows I threw at Elaine earlier.

"I'm not staring at you, you are the one who is staring at me" he just raised his eyebrow and started to come closer to my place. He looks at my legs and started to fix my blanket. He harshly gives back my pillows and looked at me boringly.

"We will start your training tomorrow"

"You know we can really start right now" I answered him with my sweetest smile. That’s so gross, I want to pull his head off.

"Tsk, stop annoying me, Euryale Stheno" he looked at me with his glaring black eyes. One of my hobbies is to piss you off, we've been together for 13 years and you're still not used to it?

I wonder, how can he hide his blue eyes while Eros can't? Or Eros just doesn't want to hide his true eyes at all?

"I said, stop staring at me" I just rolled my eyes at him. First of all, what is he really doing here? He went here out of nowhere.

"I said----" he cut me off by placing a pillow on my face

"Rest well, I'm still not done with you"

"Get out of my room!" I shouted at him and he just smirked and started to walk away.

I will surely kill him!

He slowly closed the door and I got a glimpse of his eyes. It turned blue! I bit my lower lip because of that. Wait...

Did he purposely did that?! I picked up one of my pillows and screamed my frustration at it.

"Aaah!"I continuously punched it and I heard a familiar snickering sound. What is he doing here again?! When he caught me looking at his direction he became emotionless again.

"What are you doing here again?!"I asked him and prepared my pillow. This time, I will throw this at him.

"I'm just confirming something" he smirked and quickly blinked. His eyes changed its color again!

"Your food will come in a minute, eat. Your chubby cheeks are fading" he added and I can feel the heat on my face. How dare he address my cheeks like that?!

"Leave! Damn you, Ares! I'll kill you!" I throw my pillows at the door and he just blurted out a laugh.

Chubby cheeks ha?! You're so annoying, devil!

I looked at the door when I heard consecutive knocks. Maybe it's the food.

"Knight Major, here comes your food"

"Come in"

The aroma of the foods is making me hungry, wait, why is it too many?

"Wait, I can't eat all of those!"

Almost 25 types of dishes are in here, are they expecting me to be a monster and eat all of these foods?!

"But, Knight Major... The prince ordered us to bring 10 types of dishes to you because he doesn't know what you want to eat right now..."

"Then why is it 25?!"

My room doesn't look like my room anymore, it looks like a freaking storage room of foods.

It's like no one heard my question even if I raised my voice. I looked at them dangerously and they just looked away at me.

"If you don't want to tell me, leave this room together with the foods. I don't want to eat, I lost my appetite" I declared at them and they look at each other

"Knight Commander Ares..."

"What did he tell you this time?!"I cut them off

"Hello, Eur... Is it your birthday?!"I just close my eyes because here comes another headache.

He quickly picked some bread and fruits and enjoyed eating it.

"Here, try some!" he put some on my mouth.

"Eros! I hate strawberries!" he clearly knows how much I hated this fruit but he had the guts to put some of it on my mouth?!

"Peace!" he just laughed it off and continued his eating session

"You can leave now, I will make her eat" they thanked him and starts to leave my room. I just glared at them until they are out of my sight.

"Hmm, this is delicious..." he murmured to himself while eating half of my foods. I am not complaining because I can't even eat half of those.

"Wait, where are you going?"

"I'm just gonna take a bath, leave my favorite foods alone. I'm going to eat it later"

"I'll try!"

"Eros" I called him with an authority in my voice.

"Okay! Okay! Okay! I'm just kidding, of course, I'll leave you some and this is yours after all" I nodded at him and slowly walked to my closet and picked my clothes. I can't dress inside my room because obviously, Eros is inside.

The feeling of hot water running through my body is making my body feel at ease. That three-day training almost killed me but here I am, still alive. If I haven't been sick for almost a month, I will definitely not experience this. But he also has a point, this is also for my own sake. What if a sudden war will happen? What am I going to do if my body is not in its good condition? How can I fulfill my duty if I am just going to die in the middle of a battle? I know, he can't always save someone but I am not going to wait for him to save me just in case I'm on the edge of dying. Because never in my life that I will look for a knight, I will look for my own sword just to save myself. Because at the end of the day, we only have ourselves.

"Euryale! Are you okay?! You've been taking a bath for almost 2 hours!" I came back to my senses because of Eros' voice and loud knocks on the door.

"I'm okay!"

"Are you sure? Should I come inside?" he asked me with his concerned tone but I quickly answered him.

"I'm perfectly fine, Eros! I will be out in a minute!"

I quickly did my daily bathing routine, I've been spacing out for too long. Come back to your senses, Euryale Stheno!

When I came out of the bathroom, I saw Eros is with Elaine now. What is she doing here now? A lot of trays are not here anymore, maybe Eros ordered someone to take it out.

"I thought you drown yourself," Eros said and looked at me

"Where are my foods?" I just questioned him and he motioned where my foods are.

"Are you okay? You look pale, Eury..."

I just nodded at her and went to the table. They are talking about something but I can't clearly understand what it is.

I started to eat my breakfast and I just remembered eating this for the first when Dimitri asked me to join them at breakfast. Ares was there too even Elaine.

After eating, I decided to come out. Eros and Elaine don't want to let me go but I still insist. I just suddenly want to hold my sword and start my training again earlier than they plan.

A lot of knights are here, they are minding their own business and don't see that I'm with them.

I hit the wood as hard as I could, I can feel the power that I'm giving out and it's too little compare the amount of power I really have. This sword doesn't fail to amaze me, it's been 12 years since I got her. Angelic Sin was my first ever sword from the King. It's my birthday that time and I won over Grimore in a duel. He told me to wish anything and he will give it to me. That time, the only thing came to mind is a sword, not an ordinary but a rare sword.

Every 500 years, the largest Moon Tree at the garden of the Queen was giving a precious metal. That metal is what my sword is made of, and as far as I know, the metal used to make my sword is the second metal from the tree and guess what? Ares' sword was the first one who's made with that precious moon tree metal. He got that on his 10th birthday according to Dimitri and that metal was preserved by the first-ever queen of this kingdom. To my surprise, our swords are like partners and also, his sword's name was Devil's Sin, what a terrible coincidence.

I can feel their gazes on me, none of the woods I'm practicing remained standing. I think, I made a scene and sooner or later someone will appear here. I don’t care as long as I can feel my power slowly coming back again to its normal state.

"What do you think you're doing here?" a cold familiar devil voice asked me and just like a blink of an eye, he got my sword from my strong grip, it’s just like what he did when I trained alone in the middle of a snowy night when I was nine. I can clearly remember his dangerous face that night. He’s so mad at me and I don’t even know why he’s like that.
