Chapter 6

1413 Words
REN Ren had to stop walking. He didn't remember what happened after his talk with the police officers. He only knew that something is compelling him to walk in this direction. And in all his hundred thousand plus years, his magic never felt like this. He's magic burns within him. It's telling him something. And he just realized it now, when he saw the shifter beyond the door. Saying he's beautiful is simply not enough. Because he's simply majestic. And If he wasn't properly disciplined, he'd probably already jump the poor shifter. Because this feeling only meant one thing and that he was his. He wanted to asked him if he know. Because he looked like he doesn't have any idea on what's going on. He's probably the Alpha King. And with the way he looked, it didn't bode well. He's only staring at him in shock, but mostly in dismay. When he did finally speak, his voice was a rumbling whisper. Almost like a prayer, or perhaps a curse. "You can't possibly be my....my mate." He looked repulsed and Ren can feel his insides burn. A sense of rejection washed over him, and Ren struggled to keep his face neutral, to not show that he's hurting. But he must not have done a good enough job because Takashi gripped his elbow and began to pull Ren behind him. A fierce growl tore through the large room and probably heard throughout the whole building. The Alpha King move faster than any shifters Ren had seen, in just a blink he's already on Takashi. Slamming him into the wall so aggressively that the drywall and plaster exploded behind him. Takashi hissed and gasped but he can't do anything to get him free from the Alpha King' strong grip. "Don't touch him! He is Mine! Mine!" Xavier— from what Ren recalled from the paper he read as the Alpha King's name; bark angrily at Takashi's limp body, his wolf making a terrifying appearance. His long canines extended past his full bottom lip, making him sound like an out of tune bass guitar. " Xavier what are you doing? Let him go!" Ruxs and Alexandra tried to get through to Xavier, but he’s acting like he couldn't hear them. Ren, for the first time, is walking fast. Even faster than human eyes could follow. In a short while, he's already on Xavier's side. "Let him go. He was only trying to protect me. He doesn't know." Ren kept his voice low and easy. He wanted to touch him so badly but he has a feeling it won't be appreciated. Ren can't be happy with Xavier's reaction. It was only his animal instincts. Nothing more. The Alpha wolf called Ren his. But the man, Xavier, did not. He is repulsed by the idea of him being his mate. It's written clearly in Xavier's handsome ruggedly face. Ren watched Xavier drop Takashi like a pile of trash and stepped back, shaking his head like he couldn't believe what he had done. "Fuck." Xavier spat. "I don't know you. But I'm sorry, okay. I had no right. s**t. I don't know why I.. I mean.." "Xavier we need to go." the large bald beta wolf was still trying to hustle Xavier away. Away from Ren. And he can't let him go just like that. "I'm Ruxs Fang, Xavier's beta. He's obviously not himself tonight. We will reschedule the meeting." Ren appreciate the considerate beta, trying to be diplomatic and all, but this is not about other shifters or witches. Only the two of them. Ren needed at least five minutes to say his goodbye. Inside he cringed from the crashing sadness. Xavier made a noise, Ren couldn't understand but deep within him he understands. His wolf is probably angry and hurting. That wouldn't do. "Can I speak to you privately for at least a few minutes?" Ren looked dead at Xavier when he asked him. But the beta wolf suddenly went between them. Which maybe the norm in their pack but Ren didn't appreciate the interference. Ren's golden eyes glowed. He wanted to incinerate the rude wolf but his feelings toward the Alpha King stopped him. Fighting the urge, he didn't sense that Xavier is already in front of him. Right on top of him, actually. And he's looking at him through his wolf eyes. Time seems to stopped. Nothing in the room mattered. Ren placed his shaking hands on Xavier's hot chest, and a jolt of power shot up his arm and straight up to his heart. Xavier felt so warm, full of life and Ren feared that he will never know how deep his warmth went. "What.." Xavier rumbled. His voice sounds so sexy. Large drops of sweat rained down his temples. He's been working so hard to deny what was happening between them that the man now is a big sweaty mess, but hot damn he's still handsome as f**k. Ren wanted to be wrapped with that dominating tone, and bathe with in Xavier's scent and mark him with it. Suddenly determine, he spoke to Takashi. "Takashi wait outside." He looked to be very fully recovered from Xavier's brief assault, but it didn't stop him from glaring daggers at the Alpha King and his beta. "Now." Xavier turned to his pack mates who was busy kicking and removing some of the drywall out of the way. "Wait outside, everyone, please. Don't let anyone come here, especially the police. And tell them we will pay for any damages." They both waited for everyone to get outside before turning back to each other. "You don't want me." Ren cut right to the point. He was never coy, always so assured. But right now he could barely get those words out. "I'm a shifter. You're a Witch. I only wanted to meet up because your kind keeps on antagonizing my wolves." Your kind.... That sounds so harsh. Deciding to take a different approach. Ren took a gamble because small talk wasn't really what Xavier wanted. Actually, he didn't know what the man even wanted. He didn't know what more to do to fix this. He can't possibly just give up like that. And, it would probably kill him if he accept his rejection and just walk away. He needed to get through Xavier. "My name is Ren Sugimoto. But you can call me–" "I don't need to call you anything." Xavier snapped at him and grimaced. Clutching at his chest, like he's in great pain. "All we need to do is come up with a basic understanding in regards with our kind. And I.. I might need a little time.." Ren just stood there staring at Xavier. Aching and torn. Time? He couldn't understand. His kind always believed that he's cold and heartless. But why he felt his heart breaking right now. Why was his soul were completely torn from just a few words from the exceptional man that was fated just for him. His insides whirled and his chest felt something is battling in his rib cage. And when the sting of Xavier's refusal become too much, he fled. Summoning a teleportation sigil in a snap of his fingers he suddenly teleported very far away from the city. He's not sure how far he was. But he knew that it was in the opposite direction of the pack lands and from where he's staying right now. Takashi is probably very angry right now. But Ren didn't care. He dropped down on the soft earth and dug down his fingers on the soft soil. The only person who he need most, his very fated person hated him. That being with him made Xavier sick enough to recoil from him. Lying down on his back, Ren stared up on the gap of the trees not caring even if he's Hugo Boss suit was being ruined. Nothing mattered anymore. He's lifeless, soulless. Why would fate bless him with anything? For a minute there he thought that fate finally smiled on him. But it's all for naught. As soon as fate showed her a glimmer of hope...she snatched it away. For a hundred thousand of years he's been waiting for someone he can finally call as his. Someone he can have a connection with. But like always he's still here, alone. And for the first time in his long, long life he's finally afraid. His soul crying out. Calling.... Begging.... ________________________
