He crossed the gap between us like lightning and pressed his naked body against mine, flattening me against the soft bed. He was so warm, and sparks erupted all over me. All rational thought became a struggle again.
“You are stunning,” he said, so close to my face that his breath fanned my lips.
His eyes searched mine, and an earnest conviction shone within them. Warmth and contentment I’d never felt washed through me. I didn’t realize how much I’d feared rejection because of my scarred and broken body until I lay before my mate.
“What you must have endured.” He brought his forehead to mine and closed his eyes. “You are so strong, my luna.” The reverence in his tone undid me, and I closed my eyes.
“Make me yours,” I whispered.
All thoughts and plans were gone for now.
