Quinn Protective instincts flooded my body as I pushed forward. I reached the door marked ‘Private employees only’ and pulled it open. It led to a dark corridor with multiple doors. I followed the strange scent to the fire exit door at the far end and emerged into an alley behind the club. Muffled voices and a struggle filled my ears. I pushed forward and followed the scent as it disappeared around the corner of another ally. I crept forward and listened. Crates were stacked high at the entrance to the alley and blocked my line of sight. I heard her speaking but missed the words. There was more scuffling and a male grunt. Every part of me was on high alert. Whomever she was, she sounded in control of the situation. I inched around the crates, and the sight that met my eyes left me speec
