By the end of the day, the four of us women were mentally exhausted as we head back to the castle in Lily’s car. We even had Damon carpool back with us now that he knew what we really are and his parents are my most trusted advisers. I nudge Damon in order to wake him up when we arrive home.
“Hey, Damon. Wake up. We’re at the castle now.”
Damon grumbles. “Seriously? You live in a castle?”
I chuckle. “All four of us women live here together. How do you think we are able to get to school together most days? These three live with me. The castle used to be my mother’s until 15 years ago and became mine. I thought it a waste to not have anyone living within the walls, so I asked Akadia, Eva and Lily if they wanted to live here with me since it’s so close to the college we all go to and they said yes.”
Damon chuckles. “Let me guess; you guys grew up together?”
I shrug. “Akadia, Eva and I did. Lily only joined the group at the start of high school. We’ve been together as a group ever since. Pretty cool, huh?”
Damon nods before looking at the castle, his jaw dropping. “Holy s**t. This place is massive!”
I laugh as I get out of the car. “Well, it did house an entire clan of Vampires and pack of Lycans for quite a few centuries. In total, there was about 200 members living in the castle.”
Damon looks at me in shock. “Seriously? This castle is that big?”
I nod. “It sure is. Even with 200 members of a Lycan pack and a Vampire clan, it still had extra room.”
Damon blinks. “Wow. That seriously is amazing.”
I pat his shoulder before walking up to the door, opening it to reveal the grand foyer. “Welcome to your new home, Damon. Don’t worry. I have already asked your parents if you can live with us from here on out, which they said yes to, packed and moved all your belongings into one of the third floor rooms.”
Damon looks around in awe. “Wow. I can’t believe I am now living in the town’s legendary castle! This is amazing. I have to ask, does my new room have a balcony at all?”
I chuckle. “It sure does. Your parents made sure of it when we went searching for a room. That is why I had disappeared five minutes into lunch. To help your parents find a room with a balcony for you.”
Damon grins at me. “Thank you, Eclipse! And would it be possible if I can join your pack?”
I ruffle his hair. “You already are, Damon. Your parents agreed to let you join since I will be able to protect you better than they ever could from the likes of the Hunters and the rogues.”
Damon bubbles in excitement before literally disappearing to his new room, getting me to look directly at Lily who nods and follows after him. Akadia chuckles and sends me a playful wink before disappearing to her own room, leaving me there in the front foyer for a moment before I head off to the kitchen.
That’s when I get a massive hug from a woman. “Thank you so much for letting Damon join your pack and live here, My Queen. It truly means a lot to both Beowulf and I.”
I chuckle and hug Celosia back. “You’re quite welcome, Losi. Now, is there any important business I have to take care of before retiring to my room? If so, I wish to get it done as soon as I possibly can.”
Celosia shakes her head. “It has all been taken care of, My Queen. Today’s work was only minor things you need not worry yourself with. As I am your trusted female adviser, I made sure to get it done for you.”
I smile at her. “Thank you, Celosia. And please, you should know by now to call me Eclipse.”
Celosia smiles and bows. “Of course. You may retire to your room to relax.”
I smile more. “Thank you for this, Losi. I appreciate it, especially with being so busy with college.”
Celosia waves a hand in the air. “It’s not a problem at all, Eclipse.”
I smile once more before teleporting to my room, which was on the fifth floor and accompanied by a large balcony with a small swimming pool on it. I give a small stretch before changing into a pair of fire engine red bikinis and grabbing a towel from my mini linen closet, walking out to my pool to toss the towel onto the deck chair and diving into the pool to swim around. Of course, I keep my legs as I didn’t want to deal with my tail.
Akadia suddenly jumps in and holds me under, smirking as she holds her breath. Hey there, Queenie.
I roll my eyes and flick her forehead. “You do realise I can breathe and talk normally under water, right?”
Akadia pouts before surfacing. “That is seriously not fair.”
I surface a moment after and laugh. “Well, it is part of the type of Mermaid I am, Dia.”
Akadia huffs. “Still not fair.”
I arch a brow. “Where’s Eva and Lily?”
Akadia shrugs. “Eva said she’ll follow in a few and Lily is spending time with Damon since they’re mates.”
I nod. “Fair enough. Seriously, those two are adorable together. I’m glad the Moon Goddess made the two of them each other’s mates. They have been secretly pining over one another since the start of college.”
Akadia laughs. “That is too true. Oh, here comes Eva.”
Eva slides into the pool with a smile, sighing in relief to find the water was heated on a cold day. She looks at Akadia and I. “So, what did I miss between the two of you?”
I chuckle. “Not much. Akadia tried to hold me under the water and forgot I can breathe and speak normally while under the surface, considering the type of Mermaid I am.”
Eva laughs. “That is so like you, Dia. Forgetting the type of Mermaid Eclipse is.”
Akadia pouts. “I can’t help it, especially with being the Princess of the Fairies. My mind is focused on royal duties and college, so I tend to forget small details like that easily.”
I smile reassuringly at her. “It’s okay, Dia. Seriously, I understand what it’s like.”
Akadia smiles back. “Thanks, Eclipse. You seriously are the best person to have as a friend.”
I chuckle. “You’re quite welcome. And hey, maybe we could convince the two lovebirds to join us in the pool until dinner time? I’m sure Lily is eager to go for a swim after the long day at school.”
Akadia nods. “Good idea. I’m willing to do that.”
Eva nods as well. “Same here. Come on, let’s go now.”
I laugh as we pull ourselves out of the pool and use the breeze to dry our bodies before heading straight into Damon’s room via my teleportation. I grin at the two of them. “We’re spending time as a pack in the pool of my balcony. Get changed into some bikinis and board shorts and get your asses to my room.”
Lily pouts. “Do we have to? I want to spend time with Damon.”
Damon chuckles and places a kiss on Lily’s temple. “We can do that after dinner, love. I don’t exactly want to anger the Alpha Queen by refusing to spend quality time as a pack.”
I chuckle. “Well said, Damon. Now, hurry up. Lily, when you guys are ready, link me and I will be more than happy to teleport the two of you to my balcony.”
Lily nods and stands up, getting me to smile at the two of them before teleporting Akadia, Eva and I back to my balcony pool. I slide into the water and sink to the bottom for a moment.
Oi, Eclipse. Get your butt back up to the surface. Akadia links me.
I groan before surfacing, shooting Akadia an annoyed look. “What is it now?”
Akadia grins. “That was actually easier than I thought it was going to be.”
I laugh. “It sure was. And I didn’t even have to use my Alpha Command.”
Eva smirks. “I think it might be because of the way you said it. Quality time as a pack and all.”
Akadia nods. “Eva has a point, you know. Giving the reason of spending quality time as a pack is as good a reason as any command in my books.”
I chuckle. “Thanks, you two. I actually came up with that reason on the spot, to be honest. I’m really glad it actually worked. And in any case, Lily and Damon should be ready by now.”
Eclipse, Damon and I are ready to be teleported. Lily links me.
I smirk before clicking my fingers to teleport the two of them to the poolside, causing Damon’s jaw to drop upon seeing the set up and making me laugh at his reaction. “Yes, I have a big enough balcony that I can fit a fair sized pool, a few deck chairs, a table, some plants on and still have some room. Pretty cool, huh?”
Damon nods. “It sure is. I’m kinda jealous now.”
I chuckle. “Well, now that you’re part of the pack, once every week we spend a few hours of quality pack bonding either in the games room or in my balcony pool.”
Damon grins before getting into the pool. “This is seriously the best thing ever. Thank you again for letting me join your pack, Eclipse. I didn’t exactly want to have to devolve into a rogue or Omega.”
I grin at him. “Hey, taking in wayward Werewolves, pureblood or hybrid, is what I do.”
Damon arches a brow. “Even Lily when she has a family?”
I nod. “She may be part of the royal family, but they aren’t actually a proper pack. I am honestly surprised Stephen actually let Lily join my pack.”
Lily giggles as she slides into the pool. “Well, Father highly trusts you, considering you’re the Alpha Queen. Plus, he knows the Crescent Shade Pack needs to be rebuilt and gives his full support.”
I smile. “That’s very kind of him. I will need to meet with him to personally thank him.”
Lily smiles. “He’ll be coming to Saturday night’s concert. VIP backstage pass for him and Mother.”
I arch a brow. “Let me guess; all your doing?”
Lily blushes. “Yes, actually.”
I smile. “Thank you for that, Lily. I really cannot wait until I see them again. It has been too long.”
Damon suddenly gets a mischievous expression on his face, causing me to arch a brow before suddenly going under. I smirk as I pull him with me not a second after, causing him to yelp in surprise.
“I can breathe and speak normally under the water, Damon. It is because of the type of Mermaid I am.”
Damon’s eyes widen, linking me. Seriously? That is so cool.
I laugh at him before we surface, getting splashed by Akadia, Eva and Lily. We all grin at each other.
