CHAPTER SIX Tom leaned in the doorway of the interrogation room, his shoulder not quite allowing the large, steel frame to close. He didn't want Mr. Wagonmaker to feel trapped. The man wasn't a suspect. Tom's motive was partly altruistic. But also, a door open at his back gave him an escape route. In situations like these, dealing with grieving parents, Sawyer preferred to let Ilse take the lead. He'd been told in the past that his bedside manner was somewhat lacking. Not that he minded.
