Let's Play House

Brian Jenny kept Dave or myself busy. She was needier than she was pregnant with Sammy. I don’t know if it had to do with her carrying pure wolf babies, or two, but I would find myself taking care of a few tasks then being pounced on by my randy mate. It was like our first few weeks together all over again.  “Doll, Hmm, I love this, but um.” I had to hold Jen’s wrists behind her back to stop her from pulling my clothes off of me. “Hey, look at me. Doll, Dave and I have a meeting with the mayor in twenty minutes. As much as I would love to take care of you, we need to go to town.” Jenny pouted, and let her eyes swirl in fantastic colors to let me know just how disappointed she and her wolf side were that she wasn't being ravaged right here on my desk. “Fine. I’ll wait.” “Hey Dave and I have a surprise for you once we get back.” I mentioned giving her a chaste peck on the lips restraining myself from giving in to her desires. “Really?”  “Yeah, and after we show you the surprise, we will even tie you up and do all the dirty things to you that you have running through your head.” I smirked knowing that she would be clenching her thighs together for the rest of the afternoon in anticipation.  Jen nodded frantically opening up the mate link to Dave and myself showing us exactly what she wanted us to do to her. I gently lifted her off my lap and sent her out of my office door smacking her soundly on the ass hinting at what was in store for her later. I followed her out of my office and stepped across the hall to get Dave before heading to the garage to get a vehicle.  Once we were settled in his sedan Dave muttered. “Man it’s a good thing she has two, because I can’t keep up with her alone!” I heartily agreed. “Yeah now that the morning sickness is over she has been in my office at least once a day.”  “It’s like her romance books and that heat thing that is always in ‘em. I didn’t know pregnant women could be like that!” Dave concentrated on the drive into town for our meeting. We needed to talk about the pack expansion and bringing the vale to our land. We would need more housing and security. We wouldn’t need to worry so much about the Fae so much, but with all of the wolves finding mates in such short order we needed to be ready for growth. This small town would be doubling in size with that alone.  After the ten minute drive to the city hall we parked and headed in for our meeting. We had a stack of building permits, and a new deed for the farmland that bordered our property. Three of our wolves found their mates in the farmer’s daughters. It sounded like a cliche chick flick, but because of that the farmer who had been planning on retiring sold us the land. We planned to continue farming, bringing more revenue for the pack, and jobs to keep wolves busy.  The mayor supported our proposal and sent us off with congratulations on so many of our pack finding mates. I knew that it would be really straight forward. I still get nervous though. I hate anything that has me in a position where I have to be in charge. It’s one of the reasons that I ‘ran away’ from the vale. I didn’t want other people taking my suggestions, or orders, then getting screwed over or even hurt. I had to hand it to my mate, that she did that well. She’s strong and confident and has a knack for leadership.  I admired my wife and her seemingly boundless confidence. I know that not every decision that she has had to make running the pack was easy, nor consequence free, but they have been the right ones. Somehow she knows what to do, and everything falls into place behind her. I’m hoping that instinct will serve her in the vale. The Fae need it. I was failing my people by not going back. I knew that I needed to take over, it scared me, I suppose that I thought that I would be doing it alone. Now I know that I never will be.  I looked appreciatively toward Dave as we left the town hall. “Let’s get a coffee and think how we are going to give Jen this surprise.” “Sounds good. Cuppy’s should still be open.” Dave pulled into the small parking lot in front of the local coffee shop. “I know she says she doesn’t like surprises. So I was thinking just handing her the pack of permits and plans for the new house.” I nodded agreeing with that. “Yeah. I was thinking about some pastries too. She’s wanting sugar non stop.”  “Maybe not, Doc said she needs to watch that. I know it’s rare that wolves get diabetes, but with two I want to avoid it.” I looked at the other man. At first my hackles raised that he was taking this liberty of taking care of my wife, but then at the same time she is his mate, and he was thinking of her and their children’s health. Every other situation this would be admirable. I had to focus on the fact that he was being the best mate that he could.  I guess our bond was getting stronger, allowing him to follow my feelings or thoughts. “Dude if I’m overstepping please tell me. Thanks for not biting my head off though.” He told me. “No, no, you’re actually right. I should be focusing on her health too. I think I was jealous that you thought about it first more than you were doing it.” I admitted to myself and him.  “Okay then, enough of the feelings, what else can we get her that she would enjoy?” Dave asked, waving his hand over his coffee like he was clearing the air. I thought to myself and sipped my cappuccino. “Well, we can cook her dinner. I was going to say meat and cheese tray, but it’s a lot of salt, and she isn’t enjoying cheese right now anyway. So steak, baked potato, salad with sparkling grape juice.”  “Perfect! We can swing by the grocery store on the way home.” He swigged his coffee and sat back in his chair.  We finished our drinks and swung by the store on the way back home. I laughed to myself for a minute when I saw a couple of teenage girls looking at Dave and myself shopping together. Dave gave me a funny look and I had to explain once I determined that we were out of earshot. “I think those human kids thought we were together.” Dave grimaced then a mischievous look flashed across his face. “So, it’s a bro-date.” As the girls came down the aisle that we were going up Dave leaned in real close like he was sharing a secret with me. Then just loud enough for a human to hear if they were close enough. “I mean I do get to see you naked tonight right?” I turned cherry red and punched him in the gut. “Dude not funny!” Dave dragged breath back in holding his abdomen and leaned heavily on the cart. “Don’t let anyone tell me that a fairy can’t punch!” The girls that had been blatantly staring at us erupted into laughter only thinking about the all too recent connotation that ‘fairy’ used to mean. I shook my head and continued to the meet section and finish our trip. Dave quickly caught his breath and caught back up to me. “Sorry I hit so hard.” I muttered. “No, I probably deserved it. But you are the one that started it with the brother husband business.” he pointed out.  “Yeah.” I nodded as I placed our items on the belt at checkout. “I mean it. And we should just come up with a different… Clan name” I quickly added before saying family name with the humans in earshot. “Okay. We’ll ask Jen about it over dinner.” We each grabbed a bag after I paid and headed back to the car.  Once the door was closed I called Astra to take Sammy for the night. “Okay bro-hubs. Let's go woo our woman.”
