Chapter 4: Thaddeus and Geovanni gathered their travel gear that waited outside. The night watch had been kind enough to collect it for them. With two guards standing watch over their packs, it was obvious their fate had been sealed before the council even received the scribe's report. That added a twist to the problem Thaddeus hadn’t expected. The sentries became their shadows and escorted the civil servants to the stables and their waiting transportation. The irony of having two of the night watch as shadows gave Thaddeus a little smirk. He had to find humor somewhere, his heart was breaking. The Council of Ten wanted them out of town now. Something was amiss, and he had no clue what might be behind their actions. “I hope it is a carriage. Travel gives me… the winds,” Geovanni whispere
