I was in my room pacing back and forth, I knew I had missed my mate for all those years, I just wanted to have my revenge, that's all I wanted, this son of a b***h left my daughter motherless did he even think what would it cause to kill her, and now I have a second chance mate, I'm not sure how I feel about all of this it's been so long, I don't know how to act around her. I know she felt some kind of bond between us earlier, but she stopped it, maybe she feels it's going to fast, or I'm still not over Cindy, well I'm really not, I still miss her as much as the day she was killed, my heart still aches for her, I'm sorry Cindy I'm truly am, maybe when this is all over, I'll be ready to move on but right now I'm not, it's just to hard right now, when I touch Van all I see is Cindy, maybe I need to wait until this is over,
Van pov
I was sitting on my bed, I don't really know how this mate thing works but I can't. I just can't, when this is done, I'll ask the moon goddess to erase his memory. It's going to be hard, but when this is all done, I'll leave, and let him find his true second chance mate, I'll be happy and maybe I'll find my true mate, that is if I want one, because if there anything like the power seekers, then I rather be single for the rest of my life.when I heard a knock on my door, I went to go answer it. I opened the door and saw Carter standing there. "Can I come inside?" I moved out of the way so he could, "listen we need to talk, I know we are mates, but I'm just not ready yet, maybe after we find the one that killed my mate, but I still love her, I still miss her like it was just yesterday, when I look at you, all I see is her I'm sorry Van, I truly am I'm not rejecting you, I'm just saying, not right now, not until this is all over," he kissed her forehead and walked out of the room shutting the door behind him, she set down on the bed with a sigh of relief, but her heart ached, is this how it feels when you are rejected.
She got up and decided to take a shower. Luna started to speak with her, "Van, he didn't reject you he just said not right now," she shook her head saying, "it's for the best anyways, because once this is over. I'm going to ask the goddess to erase his memories of me and I'll go back home, it's better this way Luna, she heard Luna sigh as she finished her shower. She dried off and got dressed in shorts and a shirt, she put her hair in a ponytail and then put her shoes on, she wanted to go talk with the guys to feel better. She walked to their room knocking, Casey answered the door. "hey girl we were just talking about you, were excited that Carter says your his mate," she stopped her, well about that, "a few minutes ago he came to my room and told me he's just not ready yet, that he still sees her and misses her, and he said he's not rejecting me, but he did it's just not yet,'so it made my decision a lot easier, when this is all done, i'm going to ask the moon goddess to erase his memories of me and the same with his daughter it's for the best, my home is with y'all, she heard them all sigh, "Van, are you sure about this, If you do this, you can't see him because he will remember you, Ryan had said"
"Yes I have already thought about this, trust me I have. I was having second thoughts until he came in my room and said all of this, so I made up my mind, I'm going to do it. We just need to find this lycan kill him and leave, the faster the better, I think we need to go to Ellie's room and ask her a few questions, see what she actually knows I'll tell her if she tells the truth I'll let her live. I mean if it's the only way to do this then let's do it, they all agreed as they walked out the door, Van stopped "does anyone know what room she is in?"
