Last Lycan Pack

*SIX YEARS LATER* ~Meena~ I wake up with a severe kink in my neck. I move my arms to stretch it out, but my arm won’t move. I try to move it again and I try the other arm, but it doesn’t work. I take a deep breath in and nearly choke. The air smells like sh.it! There’s mold, dust, blood, urine, and death weaving through my nostrils. I adjust my sight and look around me. I’m in the dungeon; my arms are cuffed above my head. My legs are cuffed and pulled out to my sides. Sh.it! “Hey?” I wait for a sound. “HEY! Can someone let me out of here now?” I hear footsteps in the distance, and the sound gets louder. Keys jingle, and the lock is released. The door swings open, and a chuckle follows. “Is this really your long term plan?” I sigh. “Shut the fu.ck up, and let me out of here.” I’m the Alpha of my pack, Steelhead Crest Pack. I’m a Lycan, and as far as I know, this is the last Lycan pack. They were wiped out around 10-15 years ago, but we survived. Why am I locked up in the dungeons? Well, I’m 23 years old and am unmated. My Lycan, Raven, is starting to go feral since we are an unmated Alpha. Alphas don’t really function well if they go unmated for too long. It keeps them from properly taking care of the pack and their pack members. If this keeps up any longer, I will completely lose it, and there will be no coming back. A feral Lycan is dangerous to anyone and everyone they come across. “So……how was your night?” I roll my eyes. Kelvin, my Beta, best friend, and pain in my ass. He’s been my rock through this mess with my Lycan. It isn’t an every night thing at the moment, mostly when there’s a full moon out. Over time, it will get more frequent and more violent. The rest of the walk to the main house was quiet. As soon as I get to my room, I run into the restroom and strip down. I spent the night in the dungeons, and that’s a far cry from even a one-star hotel. I look at myself in the mirror, looking past the dirt that clings to me. I’m 5’10 with caramel-colored skin. I have almond-shaped, light green eyes and high cheekbones. My lips are pouty, my hair curly and down to the top of my behind. I have a medium-sized chest and ass, but it works for me. I’m muscular due to training for so long. I’ve been in charge of my pack since I turned 18 when my parents lost their lives. It’s been a tough road, but I continue to survive and bring my pack members with me. I jump into the shower, washing all of the dirt and grime from my body. Once I clean, I stand under the flood of water until it cools. I wouldn’t wish for my worst enemy to stay in the dungeons. It doesn’t mean that I’m going to stop putting people there; it’s just that I have an appreciation for what it can do to the psyche. I jump out of the shower and dry off quickly. I’m sure I have a ton of work that I need to get through, so I don’t have time to hang out up here. I throw on a long-sleeved top, a pair of jeans, and some ankle boots. I throw my hair into a high ponytail and take off to my office. I walk in and sit at my desk, which has piles of paperwork. I swear that is the worst part of this position: the paperwork. If I never had to do another piece of paperwork, I’d be the happiest person in the world. I plop in my chair and get started. This pack has been under the radar for a while now. It isn’t that we are hidden from the world because how likely would it be to maintain that? We have, however, been overly cautious about where we are located and who we allow in. We are actually at the base of a mountain, so to speak. There’s only one way in and out of this pack, and rather than having four borders to keep track of, we only have three. The mountain is high enough that it would be crazy to think that anyone would scale it just to come at us from above. The mountain covers the entire right side of our pack. Our pack house isn’t against the mountain, but the underground rooms we have are against it. We have an entire library, movie theater, and safe rooms under the packhouse. I’m not talking about the basement; I mean under that. We found that it was smart to have that set up to keep ourselves and our history safe. Our library has a lot of rare documents that should have been lost over the years, but I made it my mission to procure these things as I came across them. The packhouse is four floors high: the top is for the Alpha and Beta, then we have the Gamma and Delta, then guestrooms with offices, and the bottom floor is for all. The floors are split in two, with each group occupying half of the floor. It took me a while to get it complete, but it was well worth it. We have homes all over the territory and a small shopping center on packlands. We do as much as we can on-site, but we do mix with wolves and humans. We are about 45 minutes away from a major human city and about an hour and a half away from the nearest wolf pack. A knock on my door pulls me from my work. I grunt at whoever it is, and my door opens. “Didn’t I get rid of you already?” Kelvin chuckles, walking into my office. “I just thought I’d warn you that you are about to have a visitor.” I drop the pen that was in my hand and let my head hit the desk. “Alpha Lansing?” “Alpha Lansing, correct.” Fu.ck me! I really don’t want to deal with this right now. Alpha Lansing is Alpha of the Ridgemore pack, which is about 2 hours west of us. He’s constantly coming here and demanding that I take him as my mate. I’d rather stick literal rusty nails in my eye repeatedly. It isn’t so much that I’m waiting for my fated mate, because I’m, but it’s also because he’s a pompous piece of sh.it. I probably wouldn’t piss on him if he were on fire. “Fenrir, please give me strength.” I look up in time to see Kelvin opening his eyes with a smirk on his face. “They are bringing him up. Do you want me to stay?” I sigh and sit up in my seat. I turn my head from side to side, cracking my neck. “No, I got this. Though you may want to stay close by just in case.” Kelvin chuckles as he walks out of my office. I clear my mind and sit up in my chair, putting my game face on. The door opens and he walks in, his aura on full display. “Ah, Meena my dear. It’s so nice to see you.”
