Chapter Six
’s first glimpse of Jack had her thinking that he was a big, burly guy, but she soon realized that that was a trick of the night and perspective. He really wasn’t much taller than she was. Still, he was built like a wrestler, and she guessed he had trouble finding shirts that fit him properly.
Jack did a quick check of the area using a flashlight, but it was so perfunctory that it was clear to Kimberley that he did not think that Barbara had had any company. That or maybe he was itching to get back to the campsite and try out their new captive Barbie doll. Probably a bit of both, she decided. When he stopped searching and set off into the woods, she followed him, carefully and quietly.
